You are catching on.You like graphs, charts, and info graphics a whole lot, don't you?
I did the Ancestry.com one and they nailed mine, I know a lot about my ancestors regarding where they came from and they pegged me perfectly. (I saw on the Ancestry website a day or two ago they have a 75% off sale on the DNA test kit now)Anyone used the 23 and me our ancestry dot com? Any surprises? My sister wants me to do it, but I don’t want to be cloned.
I've used both, and they had the same answer. I'm primarily English, with a smattering of German and other European thrown in. All that mixing likely happened before my English ancestors ever showed up here in the early 1600s.Anyone used the 23 and me our ancestry dot com? Any surprises? i did 23 and me and found out I’m 1.3% AfricanAnyone used the 23 and me our ancestry dot com? Any surprises? My sister wants me to do it, but I don’t want to be cloned.
Similarly, my uncle once told me that there was a bit of Native American ancestry in our family tree, but according to ancestry.com, it's actually from Congo.i did 23 and me and found out I’m 1.3% African
Me too. Ivory Coast. I want my damn reparations!i did 23 and me and found out I’m 1.3% African
I did both. Got about 50% agreement between the two. The other half was wildly different. When merging my own family research with the genetic results, I tend to lean towards 23&Me. The only reservation I had taking these tests is that I might find an unknown sibling, as my dad was a bit of a swinging dick back in the day...Anyone used the 23 and me our ancestry dot com? I have some of everything except 0% Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander. It also said I had more Neanderthal DNA than 92% of all other 23 and Me customers. LOLAnyone used the 23 and me our ancestry dot com? Any surprises? My sister wants me to do it, but I don’t want to be cloned.
My aunt has always said the same about her mother’s side of the family. Their test yielded similar results to your uncle’s. My cousin said that was a fun conversation with his grandmotherSimilarly, my uncle once told me that there was a bit of Native American ancestry in our family tree, but according to ancestry.com, it's actually from Congo.
It was common in the 1800s for a mixed-race white/black person to claim to be white/native instead, and apparently that's what one of my great-great-great-great-great (?) grandparents did.

Figured you would have had a little bit of Norwegian somewhere.I have some of everything except 0% Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander. It also said I had more Neanderthal DNA than 92% of all other 23 and Me customers. LOL
The thing I found that I had no clue of was that I'm 3% Italian and sure enough, several years later doing research for the Sons of the American Revolution I found an Italian patriot grandfather. Absalom Cornelius.
