Now I generally don't judge people on how they"fan". To each his own.But if you are actually hoping your team loses to prove you were right in not sure you are even a fan.

The huskers winning is such a high that it far overcomes any lingering regret about predicting their doom. But...predicting doom has made one right for the last decade...I mean 1-30 against top 25 teams is so unbelievably bad for a team with our investment and resources and history that it is almost curse worthy. The same people bragging about their loyalty today will be the same people melting down after Ohio gets their first touchdown on Saturday. The people with brains will be more pessimistic before the season but more grounded during the season because the last 10 seasons aren't flukes, they are the clear and predictable result of incompetence at the highest level. But I still hope for magic and luck this season. Pessimistic people already get **** on in this forum, it would be great for it to be in the name of the huskers winning instead of just fan ignorance like usual.

That didn’t take long.

Can't have it both ways. Cannot crow about the expected 5-0 start and then overlook the equally predictable slide to oblivion the last half of the season. I am just anxious to see the Huskers on the field. None of us will know anything until we do.

I don't disagree with the high of winning . My point is (whether they admit it or not) guys who have called for 4-8 type record will actively root against the team. That's NOT fandom imo. Also I don't expect anybody to get on here and admit that but it's true.

I'm not a Nebraska basketball follower but I literally watched one guy on here just last year talk down on everything good the team was doing. Talked **** about the coach should've been fired years ago and even poor mouth the schedule and opposing teams. ANYTHING just to justify his preseason point that " Nebraska all is ***" and always will be *** and Hoiberg sucks etc.

So with each Husker win came another excuse. No happiness, no gratitude. Just the need to feel "right" about an opinion . While also knowing the **** he was gonna receive as the team proved to be one of the better ones in the country.

My point is when you do THAT type **** you should just find a new team. Don't pretend to be a Husker fan. Just move on...

Don't you just regurgitate the same response every time. Kettle calling me hot. I didn't really mean to insinuate the "loyalists" are stupid but think more with passion than logic. They get super excited in August no matter the situation on the ground and then very angry as if the inevitable collapse of the huskers is surprising. I tend to get disgusted by off-season stuff...bad recruiting, NIL, transfer portal, coaching as this stuff determines the future season before it even starts. I mean, the threshold for wins in our season if 5-7....five much more likely than 7. Man, it would be nice to be wrong. Hopefully on Saturday we completely dominate Ohio...run the ball down their throats for 400 yards, hold them to zero points...win 54-0. That would be awesome. It will be awesome to start 5-0. be competitive against Indiana, OSU, Oregon, win 8-9 games. There is zero reason to think this will happen.
