haven't seen Rutgers numbers but afraid to see them too
Think the attendance numbers Rutgers shares after games
RU-UMass (BTN) 35.7 M

Truth ( from a google search)

The TV viewership for the Rutgers vs. Massachusetts (UMass) game on the Big Ten Network (BTN) actually was released, drawing an average of 370,000 viewers

I would like to think the game is watched by more people on its own merits but I know gambling is driving a lot of the ratings. Zoomers are addicted as intended.

Are prop bets a big part of college football betting?
I'm clueless on gambling and plan to remain that way.

Generally allowed but not as many options as pro sports. Some states allow it more broadly than others. NJ is pretty permissive other than not being allowed to bet on in-state teams.

apparently, our mods bring it up in almost every podcast. probably why they get the analysis of the skillset of the teams so wrong so often.....too fixated on what the gambling lines tell us.

These ratings numbers have my head spinning. So many different methodologies. Understandable though as viewership spreading across so many different platforms and so many ways of measuring viewership exist.

“A source with knowledge of Disney’s viewership data tells @AndyStaples that SEC minutes watched are up 41% year-over-year.”

Viewership figures remind of attendance numbers. Easy to spin and hard to trust.

Saw that and it’s partially true that early season scheduling is part of it. The SEC and ACC are at 10 P4 games and if the CFP goes to 24 the B10 and B12 will follow suit.

Also not sure how down they are as opposed to flat when looking at total viewing minutes as the Fox analytics guy mentioned above.

The former Fox Sports CEO Bob Thompson also mentioned that you’re not getting the ratings bump from Nielsens change in models anymore. So the ratings are more normalized when doing YoY comparisons
