After 7 touchdown passes on naational television, how do you boys view him from a recruiting angle.

Remember, this is a guy many of you panned last winter when his transfer was announced.

Please excuse typos.

Right now I'd say he's a low FCS guy - EIU, WIU, Morehead State, St Thomas guy. If he can string a couple more games like he just did he could perhaps go to a S Dakota, Idaho - where another MC star played, etc, However I see him at an Ivy no problem

Granted, Cloherty has been blessed with a set of highly gifted receivers. But he has shown a nice touch with the ball and nearly perfect timing. As he gets acclimated to the team, he undoubtedly will improve. Still, it would be hard to predict just how high his stock will rise in the recruiting market.

Quarterback recruiting is as strange as it comes. Yes the game was impressive but college at scholarship level have been filled in the 2027 class for well over a year plus. Those "low FCS" schools are also filled...and no longer is the era of PWO's and such. Find a school that will offer you a chance to earn playing time, do well and hopefully transfer portal your way up.

They may be “filled” now but the average is 25% of most every roster is going to see their roster go to the portal and spots will open up.

I really like his game. Very actuate deep ball into tight windows. Playing ball like that at MC will certainly find you a spot at lower level D1 at least

I don't recall many people panning him. Some questioned his decision to transfer, but I think the overwhelming majority took a "wait and see" approach to his move to Carmel.

While true, most of those positions are filled with guys transferring their way up or down. It's not very likely that position gets filled with a true freshman.

100 percent correct and I'll put it this way.......I work with and talk to coaches at the FCS/FBS and lower levels pretty much on a daily basis and many of them have been attending my camps now for years. Again really hope he gets his shot but you also need to be open and realistic about the landscape thesen days.

Thank you. Nobody panned him. To be honest nobody knew anything about him, including MC. Some claimed MC recruited him just to take a free shot at MC and it just wasn't true. He came from a school that went 6-4 and he threw for 1,500 yards and 17 TD. Rushing yards were non existent. Those are average at best QB #'s in today's day and age.

He came to MC with no promises other then he will be given a fair shot, which he received and while he was in the plans for this season he was not named the full time starter, Startz injury upgraded his role.

So again, he was not panned, questioning someone's decision, pointing out their production, or saying they have a uphill battle in front of them is not panning, it's stating the obvious and pointing out a fact.

But where can I see him in College? High end Patriot League, much like Dowling going to Bucknell......there, Fordham....if he is smart Ivy League....possibly Army or Navy.....absolute high end MAC.

He made schools radar with last Fridays game. He made some remarkable throws. He made some made ones took His INT was a pass off his back foot, across his body, into the middle of the field, that's the hat trick of No's. 4 of those passes could be credited more to the catches then the throws. Against ESL he also threw 2 picks, one being a very bad panic toss after he dropped the ball.

So again, he had a great game all in all. I nominated him as player of the week without hesitation and I'm happy he got it, but I'm anxious and excited to see how he progresses each week. Does he take control and be the leader the Dowling brothers and Elliott were. Does he grasp the offense. Does he take off running when it's available. I hope he continues to trend up.

High End MAC, out of MC this year? Maybe after a year or two somewhere else.
That would be a Project Hail Mary.

I think he would do very well at a high end D3. John Carroll, North Central....depending on his grades again UChicago.

Drake, Valpo, and Butler always come calling at MC.

Of course they do, you have to pay to go to all those schools. They show up anywhere a kid shows promise.

I misread your initial comment, I thought you were stating he could go High End MAC. I think he should look to go to the D2 Route if he's serious about playing at the higher levels.

Why people pay tens of thousands just to say "I played D1" is beyond me. So many better opportunities at the D2 and D3 levels and I have never heard of a professional player from the 3 schools I mentioned. St. John's is another good opportunity even though a lot of those schools are filling up with D1 castaways

You have to pay at the D3's too (or at least somebody has to pay).
