Is there one out there yet? Anyone want to take a shot at it? Campbell has been MUCH more forthcoming than BGJ so far, and I imagine we have one soon.

I'll take a guess at offense.

QB: Becht; hopefully Manske gets some quality reps during OOC
LT (Goodman)
LG (Buhr)
Center (Riker)
RG (Cousins)
RT (Donkoh)
TE (Brahmer); if two add Rapplayea & Burkle rotating
RB (Hansen) w/Peoples & Martin working into the rotation
WRs: Sowell & Elkidsen w/Howard if they go three

Defense seems set at LBer (Rojas & Ebel),
CBs (Dixon & Collins), Nickel ( Tracy), Safties (Neal & Cooper?).
The DL is where I am unsure.

Your picks look good. From what I've seen in video clips and read in various articles, the DL might look as follows:

DE -- Ezeogu , Kemajou
DT -- Taupaki, Nnodim
DT -- Williams, Carnell
DE -- Bacon,Granville

Sorry if I have misspelled these names (I'm sure I am mispronouncing them).

I think you are on the mark. Kinda exciting to see who trots out there on the 5th and how well the team meshes. Additionally, how the coaching staff does with communicating and managing the game.

How big is Riker now? He's been listed at 291lbs. for months, but I just read an article that rmsaid he gained 30lbs. Is that before or after the listing? I love this quote from Riker...."What attracted me to football was that I could hit people without getting in trouble."

We will ultimately decide that , right here, the BWICAC. Right Marshall ?
Well it is certainly something no coach has ever considered. Putting the best players on the field?I suggest playing everyone so we can decide who is worthy of starting when conference games begin.

What's amazing is people who can't see the promises our former coach failed to deliver,
position battles, wr's getting playing time, QB battles.
Show a little hope for MC and the team and the Jimmy apologists come out of the
woodwork.
Your act and attitude along with your companions are getting old, the maroon and pumpkin
colors are shining through these snarky and punky retorts.
So taking every opportunity to denigrate Franklin isn't "snarky and punky?" Whatever the hell that is. Campbell will be judged on his W-L record. Not how he wears his cap, the size of his office or his policies regarding media availability. His mission is to win more games than Franklin did. If he does, the love fest will continue. If not the infatuation will die an ugly death.

How fascinating watching you degrade our new head coach in favor of the choking loser we had as our last coach. Full circle with your garbage.

If suggesting that a college P4 HFC will ultimately be judged on his W-L record is an attempt to denigrate him, I plead guilty. What is obvious to any intelligent fan, is that complaining about the former coach doesn't help the current coach one bit.
PSU has a schedule that delivers 9 wins. Let's see how PSU fares (regardless of who the coach is) when they get a schedule like USC faces this year. PSU, Washington, Indiana, Ohio State and Oregon. If recruiting and portal acquisitions (and NIL) don't improve, PSU will struggle to be 4, 5, or 6th in the conference in 2027-28. Franklin was 104-45. Campbell needs to be better. Remember, it's his boss who promised excellence at the highest level.

I’ll have you know we can dislike Campbell just as much as we dislike BGJ…during the first series. We don’t ‘denigrate’ here, we couch coach better than anyone! Stop defending the predecessor - he wasn’t up to our standards which includes undefeated every year, most draft picks every year, and never punting.

Reminds me of my boy's basketball coach who went ballistic on a helicopter father who chased him down on Senior Night to complain that his son didn't log enough minutes. The son was a three year starter and a great kid....the father not so much. Coach finally snapped after three years of trying to be diplomatic and let Dad have it...."Mr X, you wouldn't be happy if your son started every game, played every minute, got every rebound and took every shot in the game." Coach played at Syracuse and was about 6'8" and dad quickly realized that discretion was the better part of valor. As for Coach Campbell, I wonder will you love me in December as you loved me in August? 🤔

I think it's becoming more clear that this staff is putting the best players on the field, regardless of anything else.
How do we know who the best players are if a game has not been played? lol
And don't tell me about the past because players improve.

Beat the teams we have an exceedingly ridiculous talent advantage over and win one big game every 10 years. And lose a few games vs inferior opponents that we absolutely should have won. I like Campbell's chances vs what BGJ could do.

Don't forget that we make the blanket statement that BGJ won all the games he was supposed to but wait... Campbell can be given some grace in this area if we are comparing him straight up vs BGJ. Remember Pitt 2016, Sparty 2017 &18, Kentucky, Ilinois and most of 2021. Ahhh, thanks for the memories BGJ!

Campbell lost to Colorado last year. It happens. I think he also once lost to Ohio (and not the State).
As for big games ....Campbell made the Big 12 Championship game once....got blown out 45-19.
It will be interesting to see the kind of memories the new regime provides in 27-28 when they play a typical Big Ten schedule. Just last year, he blew a 14 point halftime lead to BYU to lose by 14. Those types of losses would be fanboy anti Franklin fodder for eternity.
There are some realities here. Both Franklin and Campbell have done very well to survive and thrive in the competitive atmosphere of P4 college football. Both, have managed to parlay their coaching skills into personal fortunes.
The other reality is that Campbell (The next head coach will bring excellence at the highest level and the national championship our fans deserve) will ultimately be judged by his record. Franklin was 104-45 (a better record than PSU enjoyed the previous 150 games). Let's see how Campbell does, no excuses.
He wasn't brought here to down size his office or feed the homeless. LOL

I think I am through with this board. If a person is here to make enemies, they are not a PSU fan most likely Pitt, ND, or
a JF apologist. I'm done.
Somewhat of a random comment to quit the board over.......and to quit during the week of the first game of the year. You made it through threads like Bolio recipes, Best Foreigner Album, Best long snapper for PSU and the discussions on this years Drum Major......you can make it through this minor skirmish.

Your current snarky personae on this board is beyond tiresome. It’s as if you come here with one singular goal: piss people off.
Only those who take this way too seriously. From my perspective, it appears that what "pisses people off" is anything that doesn't agree with their respective opinions.

As tiresome as Marshall's persona is ... and it's really just him, as he's always been, except he's shifted his repetitive commentary from "no non-coaches have a right to criticize coaches" to add a defense-of-Franklin-specifically tinge to it ... the snarkiness from anti-Frankliners is MUCH MUCH worse. It's like a disease ... or Tourette's. It's basically gotten to the point where you could say "hello ... how are you?" and someone would chime in about how Franklin didn't ask them how they were, followed by other posters jumping in to remind us how Franklin couldn't win the big game. It's the same ridiculousness over and over again. Yet I don't see you chastising the many, many posters who perpetuate that board-killing negative behavior, despite it being far more pervasive and harmful than a singular troll like Marshall.

Fair enough. In my defense, I already have most of those posters who “perpetuate that board-killing negative behavior” on ignore.
