The dude shot the finger last year on a video sent to the Shelby players so that didn’t surprise me. That just adds to the rivalry. As for the band I noticed last week against KM it was our biggest in years. As for the Crest band they seemed to be the smallest ever for them. Have a good week

SC fans became big talkers once they took SP off the schedule and hid.

Last thing about the Shelby Crest game then Imma plead the FIF LOL (good one Rulz)

If someone would told me we would have held Crest to less than a 100 passing and less than 200 yards overall
Held #1 to what one catch (albeit for a short td) and I dont remember hearing battles name ,and have almost 350 yards of offense against that stingy Crest defense AND STILL LOST I woulda called you a liar

I see 1's daddy is still questioning play calling on the facebook... I dont understand Coach Barnes comes back, he wins with his style and always has
yet people are dogging him and the play calling AFTER a win.....

I think if the Cresties would be completely honest the best team on THAT NIGHT lost....But they lost, nothing more can be said...Gotta tip the old
cap to the infidels and try again next year... I wish them well and hope they lose the rest LOL Im kidding

Okay rulz, so here will be your first chance to prove your honor that you claimed in this thread.

But first, congrats on the hard fought win.
It was an instant classic, as SL stated, in our storied series. One of the best, from a fan’s perspective.

Enjoy your 5 straight. But it is not unique in this series.

But football purests saw that Shelby outplayed Crest everywhere but on the scoreboard. And in limiting mistakes.
It’s all part of the game, so no excuses here. In many ways we beat ourselves. We have to clean that up, and we will.

That is one of the reasons why we play you and KM. Great higher classification competition exposes your strengths and weaknesses.
But we have bigger fish to fry, and we never confuse a loss to a county rival to our focus on the primary pursuit of another State Championship.
Of course we want to defeat you, play as hard as we did tonight. But win or lose, we will not put that score inside a Championship ring.

Again, congratulations. Go win States again.

So now about honor.

We want your take on the incident where your QB, visible to all, gave the finger to the Shelby fans on his run to the Shelby sideline.
The play was to leave you with a third and long, but his act drew an unsportsmanlike penalty for 15 more yards.
And this was at a critical point in the third quarter. The third down failed and forced a punt.
We noted as he went the sidelines, head coach confronted him and the discussion moved to the tent.
But the QB was back playing on the next series.

Our opinion?
There is not a head coach in all of Shelby’s football history that would have permitted a Shelby QB that did such a no class act to return to the field.
I am confident other Shelby texters here will confirm that.

So tell us rulz. And think about this before you fire off some stupid remark that ducks the serious question or references “ stern warnings”. This is different. Public. In front of the whole stadium. Representing the school, the program, the culture.

What was the honorable thing to do?

Why wouldn’t the Crest QB be back on the field for the next series? He got an unsportsmanlike penalty. No different than any of those unsportsmanlike calls made during the game on other players, and neither coach pulled them from the game. Why would Crest pull their quarterback? Taunting gets a penalty, that’s all. If your player grabbed his crotch on the Crest sideline and got a penalty, you coach would chew him out and send him back out there. You are being way too sensitive about the situation. Honor has zero to do with it.

I guess people liked Sosbee and Loyd's offenses more. Barnes runs good defense, and Sosbee ran great offense. Loyd was a good balance, so I guess they miss that side. Fans tend to be spoiled with styles at times.

I do think he sould probably open it up more on a team like South Point though. I remember those days he would try to out South Point South Point and it rarely worked well during the regular season. Rest of the schedule he could probably make that chew it up style work, but raiders not so much.
