He needs to get with Taysom Hill and learn Swiss army knife role. He has the physicality for it. The only way he sticks.

Levis was always supremely talented but just never good at playing the qb position. I used to post all the time about this and people couldn't believe it, but it was true. He owes everything to wandale and of there is anything left he owes it to coen who kept feeding wandale.
Levis' senior season we had an oc that tried to develop him for the nfl by asking him to make progressions. Levis was just clueless and held the ball time and again, causing himself a beating, and continually forcing bad throws. It was really bad and it's why he slipped.
Levis needs a heavy run and play action offense. That way he can just deliver the ball to the two or three route concept or run. He can really do that, but he just cannot read anything more complex even when its a one defender read.
The worst part of it all are the continuing reports that he is just resistant to any critique and lack of self awareness. We'll see what happens, but that is not what someone is looking for in a backup.

Levis has a lot of issues but still has a lot of talent. Didn't help that he got drafted into the mess he did. Coach didn't want him, fans hated that they picked a UK QB over Hendon Hooker. Multiple coaches and OC's and a franchise that doesn't seem to care about their offensive line or wide receiver core.
Hopefully he can go to a stable situation and sit and learn how to be a NFL QB.

Classic case of a kid that needs to be put in a good system. He lack pocket awareness and the ability to run multi read offenses. Watch this - I bet San Fran picks him up, they send Mac Jones somewhere for picks, stick Levis in the West coast offense and turn him into the next Darnold.
I doubt highly that he would have recruited him, so no.
This is silly. Levis DID develop in college, and we got to enjoy that developed version after he spent three years learning the ropes at Penn State. And it was a fine result by college standards. He was the best damn UK QB we’ve had in a long *** time.
That remains true regardless of how his NFL career goes.
No way in hell. With the chronic injuries SF has, Mac Jones is a vital insurance piece. One of my main fantasy guys ranked him the highest ceiling backup QB.
Levis has some physical skills, but not the mental fortitude or sense of the position to be a trustworthy backup. If you aren’t good enough to be a backup for the Titans, who are you good enough to be a backup for?
He did physically develop into one of the best throwers on the planet. He was an emotional guy and a physical player that we all loved.
Mentally, he never developed at all. He's still the same qb who cant read even a single defender concept and makes insanely bad decisions. That's why he is now literally a recurring meme series based on his bonehead plays.
Worse, every time he is challenged to change or develop - he refuses. He is going to have very few options because no one wants a backup qb who refuses to play smart. It will have to be someone have run and play action.
I'm guessing he malcontented his way out of Tennessee thinking he's better than Cam Ward. He's still a very talented QB physically and a seemingly smart kid that just doesn't have the processing speed. Get him into an org with a reputation where he can play behind a real QB1 and let him learn, ideally in a simplified offensive scheme.
Forget the Jets, that's where QBs go to die. Jags could be interesting, not sure who their backup is right now.
Levis had an arm but always struggled reading the field. Just never improved.

I liked Levis. Seemed like a pretty good dude and led us (with Wan'Dale) to one of our best season's ever.
But being an NFL QB is really, really hard to do. And it's gotten a lot harder over the last couple years. Specifically, the way they are disguising defenses on almost every play is making it much more difficult. In college I played QB in flag football. If you couldn't figure out how you were being defended (from the rushers to the corners to the safeties) before the snap it made it a lot harder to be effective. Multiple that by 10,000 and that's the NFL.
Think about it. You see six guys near the line of scrimmage.. all of them who could knock you unconscious with a clean path. You're not sure which four or five are gonna rush and which one or two are gonna drop off and cut off your slant routes. You hesitate at all and you're getting creamed.

Btw... as proof of how much harder things have become, there hasn't been a QB who has thrown for more than 5,000 yards since 2022. Drew Brees was putting up 5,400 yard seasons 10 years ago.
