What’s PSUs best now? I worked two years at Mr. C’s 80-82. It was a blast . Got paid to go out . In my post-doc, i liked Two Keys in Lexington , KY in the late 80’s. Is that still open ?
Can anyone offer any further insight on the listed bars ?

I remember years ago a list came out and had Hungry Chuck's at Syracuse listed near the top. No longer there, but was a fun dive bar. Spent many of my post-grad days stumbling out of there with my Mich St roommate.

The best ones were all where you had the best times- mine were all in State College.

Scorpion, Brewery best two for live bands
Phyrst-best overall
Ritas- best (only) breakfast
Skeller- best with a group
Gaff- best to meet girls
My o My- strippers in the back, and in the front well, not that there's anything wrong with that

G-Man was pretty good when I went there a few times in the early 90's.
First time I went in there in fall 94, some frat dudes wanted to fight my friends and I as soon as we walked in. We hadn't even made it to the bar to get a drink and these guys are all in our faces.

We told them to walk across the street to the parking lot and we would 'discuss' it. About 8 total punches later, the three of them were picking asphalt out of their teeth.

Never went to that place again.

I was partial to the ‘Gaff and Skeller in State College, but on that list, He’s Not Here in Chapel Hill is legit. Spent many a night there in the early 90s.

PSU not much of a drinking culture anymore....... more into drugs. JK

If the Skellar was still the Skellar, it most likely would be on the list, however as sacrilegious as it may be to post, Doggies Pub is a better hangout than the Skellar. The fact that you can sit outside.......awesome.
