The record shows that Paterno knew of at least one credible report (2001) that Sandusky was involved in inappropriate sexual conduct with a child and had been aware of prior concerns. While he did report the 2001 incident to his superiors, multiple investigations concluded that he failed to use his influence to stop Sandusky and protect children. Joe also participated in the decision not to report Sandusky.

Well there is a damning email in the public domain.
  1. Did the presentment give readers the impression McQueary actually witnessed anal rape? Yes, but he told Prosecutors that's what it looked like to him
  2. Did McQueary subsequently tell Eshbach that this overstated his certainty? Yes. But only that he wasn't 1000% sure he saw insertion.
  3. Does Eshbach's “a lot of this stuff is incorrect” email prove that she deliberately lied when preparing the presentment? No—not by itself. To prove a lie, we'd need evidence that she knew the specific assertion was false when she wrote/approved it, rather than believing the presentment fairly summarized McQueary's grand-jury testimony. Plus he told them it looked like anal rape.

True, too

I don’t think so.
However, so many legal shenanigans were overlooked and ignored it only adds to the travesty of the trial.

What’s your point/question? Everything was candy and roses because she wasn’t cited?
The fact that she wasn't sanctioned belies the charge you guys make about the presentment.

You're not making any sense--one person recanting their testimony doesn't alter the other convictions. That's not an opinion. See what this hearing is to decide. You don't comprehend law or the legal system.
Your last question just proves what a loser you are in life. Your belief that only a victim would comprehend the legal system or want a pedophile locked up is pathetic. Also, you don't believe there were victims apparently so your comment makes even less sense
Educate yourself and stop thinking about Paterno

Never said anything about the other convictions, just the right to a fair trial. Clearly, most here don't agree with you on that, either. You pretending to know what I believe or don't believe, similar to what I do or do not care about, is why you're FOS....and everyone here knows it.

Btw, you are the ONLY one that keeps mentioning Paterno.

If you're saying he didn't have a fair trial then you don’t comprehend anything about law
Wait...the biased people commenting don't agree with me...oh no
I know exactly what you believe...you're transparent kiddo

What is the motivation for Rittmeyer to come forth and recant his testimony of almost 15 years ago? He was awarded $5.5 million. So what's to gain by going through this process? I just don't get it.
Wrath of Joebots harassing him. Now he has the dough and wants to redeem himself with JoeBot Nation.

While these things are in fact true, my position has ALWAYS been that Joe was a VERY old man, who came from a long lost generation that did not understand the crime of pedophilia: In his day, those sick people were regarded as insane, rather than the monsters who destroy the lives of children....My position has always been that Joe doesn't understand the level of the crime, and acted just like any man who was born long before the great depression in America. Again, many things can be true at the same time.

While it doesn't exonorate Joe totally full stop, it explains how he was bound to mishandle the situation. Those who understand generations of society in America, forgive Joe, now that a quarter century of time has passed.

The problem, again, are these dinosaurs who insist on supporting a child predator and pedophile because they cannot rectify what happened in reference to the deity named Joe Paterno, they continue to bow down to. Frankly, I still hold out hope and pray that one day they will all be gone from our fan base. They are the problem.

How much money do the Paterno's pay you to defend them all these years?
You mean Jay? Sitting in the Ohio State box last year buddying up to our opponents all season long and actively sabotaging our program for the past 15 years?

Another THANK GOD that Campbell has eliminated him from any association to the program while STILL ACKNOWLEDGING AND GIVING PRAISE TO JOE, SOMETHING FRANKLIN NEVER DID

That clown has been degrading any one who cares to question any coach, to ever blow a whistle. It's quite telling how he now criticizes Matt Campbell before he has ever coached a game while saluting the snake oil salesman who stunk the place to high heaven with his choking in every and any big game for ten years.

In related news, it turns out that one victim of Ted Bundy also recanted her testimony...so free Ted Bundy 😂.

STFU and move on. You clowns ARE the reason the rest of the nation still makes Ped State jokes. And all because of Paterno worship. Nobody cares anymore about blaming Joe, the Nation has realized he was a VERY old man without any understanding of the modern crime of pedophilia. The nation has stopped blaming Joe. It's you idiots supporting this pedophile, that are the problem now.
I guess you can try but I don’t think it will do any good since he's been dead since 1989.

In Franklin's first press conference, he referred to Joe as "the great Joe Paterno." Give up your made up hate.

+1. And lets not forget there would have been some people in charge in Franklin's first few years that wanted nothing to do with the Paterno name. We know how Sandy and Uncle Fester felt and I doubt The dick Rod felt any different add in the BOT and that was a pretty formidable group for Franklin to go up against in his first few years.

We (some of us) continue to support and defend Sandusky (see this thread) which supports the idiotic attacks we face. It's clear to me many here only care about the program and not the real victims.
This hasn't impacted our NIL money--ask anyone that actually knows. I'm sure you think everyone returned last year cheap
"Ask anyone that actually knows". Newsflash An individual who is worth $20+ million isn't going to say "I'm not donating due to the scandal". These folks are inundated with requests for $$. It is easier to just avoid the conversation. Think back to The Second Mile. All of the blame and charges fell down on PSU and JS. No real reason to blame TSM if you believed the existing narrative. But the big money boys ran from that ship as fast as they could. Same with PSU. Easier to just say "nah not interested I don't like NIL" than get into other details.

15 years after lying and participating in a very damaging condemnation of Penn State this will "redeem himself with the JoeBots". In the words of Mark Twain "sometimes it is better to stay quiet and let others think you are stupid than say something and remove all doubt." How about Occam's Razor.

Slade McLaughlin and Paul Lauricella of the law firm McLaughlin & Lauricella represented 13 victims in the Jerry Sandusky civil litigation against Penn State, which was the highest number reported for a single legal practice. I'm guessing you're one of the two fraudulently enriched remoras.

There are two levels of JoeBottery. The first is, Sandusky is a P3do and Joe didn't know it. Ziegler first tried that but the evidence was too damning that JoePa did know what was up. So, the second or "Full Monte JoeBottery" came out. They doubled down and now say it all never happened. The kids all lied to get money and Sandusky is innocent. That gets the school, Joe, CSS and everyone off the hook. It's like Area 51.

Most of the public today believe that while Joe did the legal minimum to save his azz he failed morally to live up to his carefully crafted image of high morality. He was a great coach and won games but in the end was not a great man. Two things can be true at the same time.

That math, as they say aint mathin.
hmmm? In 2001 life expectancy was 75.0 so maybe it was mathin more than you think. I think however the poster was suggesting a person who came of age in the 40's and 50's had an entirely different perspective of these things. Where I disagree with the poster is that the most damning comment was Joe's advice to TC was maybe you should talk to the person involved in addition to everyone else.IMO Joe knew about 98 [at least generally] and knew he had been cleared by the police. For a person raised in the 40's and 50's it strikes me as normal to say hey shouldn't you ask the guy knowing he had been cleared once already. Hindsight of course no. It has always struck me as ironic that those most critical of Joe also were the folks who thought he should have been omnipotent. Smarter than the police, smarter than Spanier smarter than McQueary senior or their Dr friend. Never made sense

Hey idiot, you wrote, "ACKNOWLEDGING AND GIVING PRAISE TO JOE, SOMETHING FRANKLIN NEVER DID." Take some damn gingko and blueberries to help your memory. I pointed out that Franklin DID INDEED ACKNOWLEDGE AND GIVE PRAISE TO JOE PATERNO unlike what you claim.

Even AI knows it idiot.

During his January 11, 2014 introductory press conference as Penn State’s head coach, James Franklin explicitly referred to Joe Paterno as "the great Joe Paterno" while honoring the legacy of the university's previous coaches. Franklin stated, "Honored to be joining a long line of great coaches with Bob Higgins, Rip Engle, the great Joe Paterno, success with honor," emphasizing his respect for Paterno's foundational role in building the program.

This praise was consistent with Franklin's early public stance, as he later reiterated in May 2014 that "we're not afraid to say that" Paterno was great, despite the controversial nature of the topic for some fans.

In your face loser.

Huge incentive to change stories in this case (often after claiming the use of debunked repressed memory therapy) what with Penn State handing out free insurance money to claimants. It’s very easy to see how stories changed in a 180 fashion (which they did)… anyone with half a brain can comprehend this……
