The empty shell that once was the mighty gambletron seems to be trying to work out the kinks and lines are starting to look a little better. A special good luck shout out to all fellow conference members and God's Warriors that are playing out of state competition. Represent us well!

Loyola should cover the 20.5 if their offense shows up. Cathedral was on their way to a blowout loss last week until Indy Ben Davis racked up penalty yards and TO's.

The Irish HC played favorites last year and started a Sr at QB1 over a more talented Sophomore (Chase Grove) who now has 2nd tier Big Ten/Big 12 offers. That decision set the program back about 2-3 years as they should have had a very talented Junior class this year. The Soph QB transferred before last season and a lot of the talent from that Soph class followed him.

Cathedral's offense was shaky last year and they used 2 QB's last week. Neither of them could push the ball downfield.

SJR is flying west, bringing its team to the Mountain. I, too, have learned not to trust MaxPreps.

Can’t see MC going 0-2 but if they do, is Lynch on the hot seat? Kidding, but they did fire Lenti.

GREEN DIVISION

St Francis
Glenbard West

Montini will be a close game, not sure how long QB will be out for Sandburg but backup is good. Rita 0-2?!

ORANGE DIVISION

Providence will win state if they can stay healthy

What would be more shocking DePaul Prep 2-0 or Larry 0-2?

PURPLE DIVISION
Glenbard North
Lincoln Park
Morgan Park
St Patrick

Notre Dame game will be a good one
Is St Patrick legit?

RED DIVISION

Loyola -20.5
This appears to be a good, but not great, Indiana team that they're playing, and I think Indiana is a lesser football state than we are.

King +40.5
Marist didn't impress me by only clearing Simeon by two scores last week, and this might be the CPL's top dog that they're playing. King won't come close to pulling back-to-back upsets, but 40.5 is too high.

St. Joseph -6
I don't have much insight on St. Joseph, but Mount Carmel appears to have regressed.

Woodlawn +56
Brother Rice can pick the score of this game, but in Christian charity, they'll stop scoring before it gets this lopsided.

Montini +1.5
Montini's a juggernaut, and they're going to silence those who accuse them of merely beating up on small schools.

Nazareth -7.5
Naz is angry and will take it out on York. This game will put the suggestion to bed that York is the best team in Elmhurst.

Clemente +47.5
Same deal as the Rice game here. St. Francis could win by 100, but they'd prefer to give their underclassmen some reps.

Glenbard West -4.5
Game of the week, and at Illinois' best football venue! If I had weekends off, I'd go to it. West appears to be back.

Lake Forest +34.5
I don't have much insight on these teams, but this number looks too high.

Fenwick +28.5
@tuccs, is there a misprint here, such as a plus sign instead of minus? Even if it was Fenwick -28.5, I think I would still take Fenwick. This is the lock of the week, if not the year.

Providence -30.5
Reasonable line here. Providence looks like the favorite in 5A.

Hope Academy +34.5
CHA is a legit small-school program, and I think they'll easily make this closer than five touchdowns.

DePaul -33.5
Looks about right

Immaculate Conception -25.5
IC beat them by 26 last year and has only gotten better.

Sacred Heart Griffin +22.5
Joliet Catholic will probably win, but this is too many points.

St. Laurence +14.5
Laurence has to be angrier than the third honey badger in line to get on Noah's ark after last week, and they'll have a nice bounce-back game.

Benet +27.5
It'll be closer than four touchdowns.

Marmion -22.5
Fair enough

Notre Dame +4.5
Probably the closest spread it will give us on a CCL-CPL game, and I'm happy to oblige.

St. Viator +28.5
Pretty easy win for Patrick, but not over four touchdowns

Plainfield East +28.5
I don't think De La Salle is beating anyone by 28.5.

Leo -12.5
Seems legit

Morton -11.5
Looks like a deal after beating them by 31 last year

Loyola Academy -20.5 They’re back.

King +40.5 If Marist covers the board is going to be real concerned about Larry. But give me King 2-0

MC + 6.0 Caravan by a FG

Brother Rice -56.0 The dogs might be called off early but the play calling will stay aggressive

Montini +1.5 LOCK

Naz -7.5 When is the last time they started 0-2? I think some starters will be back this week.

ST. Francis -47.5
this will get to 50 in a hurry. I don’t see Clemente breaking the redzone.

Glenbard West -4.5 it is going to be a rough year for a very good St Rita team.

Lake Forest +34.5 too many points for a rivalry game

Fenwick +28.5 come on now.

Kenwood +30.5 I don’t believe Kenwood to be 30 points bad, but they did lose some guys to the portal.

Hope +34.5 just like I said last week (not sure if I was right), but too many points to cover the way Iggy kills clock.

Lane Tech +33.5 is this a rivalry? Idk. Home game for both teams. I’ll be at this one and I hope it’s a good one.

IC Catholic -25.5 zero insight, keep the momentum momentuming

SHG +22.5 JCA wins but not by 4 scores.

St. Laurence +14.5 Larry covers but they find themselves 0-2

Benet +27.5 this will be a close game. Good matchup.

Marmion -22.5 cadets roll

Morgan Park -4.5 speed kills

Saint Patrick -28.5 someone on here asked if Rocks are legit. While I don’t think taking down Viator and Meadows makes anyone legit, I do think they are legit by seasons end. Portal weapons shined in Week 1.

Plainfield East +28.5 Lock

Leo Catholic -12.5

Morton -11.5

Cathedral +20.5 is a lock. That’s going to be a close, highly competitive game.

Marist -40.5? I guess? Is that King RB out? Back to back home Saturday games vs CPS schools because they don’t want thefans there on a Friday night. If Rita or MC did this, Mike Clark would be distraught writing articles calling us every name in the book.

Carmel will bounce back and cover, probably win.

Smart move would be 2 drives for Rice starters but cargo shorts has an ego he’ll hang 80.

Sandburg with the upset over montini. I forget that Quinn Durkin tested at MC, woulda been something to see him in that offense.

York +7.5

Franny should cover. Hearing the QB is more injured than they think. Anyone have updates?

Rita +4.5. This should be a really good game. Hoping the 2nd half team from last week shows up for Rita

Larry 0-2

Anyone know the status of King’s RB?
Setting myself up for mad Cop jokes but I met a man at Dunkin and I had an MC shirt on and he started talking Football and is good friends with the King Coach and said the RB was "Not good" but didn't say anymore and I didn't press for any more info. If he plays tomorrow don't kill the messenger 😂

Beyond what it means for their matchup with Marist, I really just hope the kid is OK. Hell of a player. He did not look well going off the field last week. Hate to see it.
