My personal opinion is the school where that player had the most impact which is very subjective
Hurts is tough because he was the Bama starting QB a couple of years and at least one National Championship
Marks is MSU - he played 3 maybe 4 years at MSU & one at USC.

Well. I think it is a case by case basis. Like the three you mentioned. Hurts will always be Bama. Nix I kind of associate him more with Oregon. I know he was at the barn for 3 years but Nix is more Oregon to me. Woody is a bulldog to me compared to Stone Blanton I think is more of a gcock

Hurts is Alabama, and Woody is a Bulldog. But they both just played 1 year at another school, kind of like an aging pro bowler finding 1 last season with a different team. I associate Bo Nix more with Auburn, but that's probably because his father played there. He just seemed a natural fit for Auburn....but he accomplished more in his two years at Oregon

Yep, school they transferred to. If someone plays for us 3 years and leaves to star for 1 year at a different school, he's a traitor IMO.

I just consider them all mercenaries. I think it depends on how long they’re were at a school & his much they accomplished there. For example Woody is a Bulldog because he was here 3 years & had a good career here. Brennan Thompson is a Bulldog because he had his breakout season here & because he really bought in to being a Bulldog. Nix is Oregon because he had a much better career there than at Auburn. Hurts is both.

I absolutely do. I think it has mostly to do with where they made their biggest impact or got the most national recognition. Is what it is.

Bama, Auburn (this is purely SEC bias; obviously the vast majority of people would associate him with Oregon), and Mississippi State (I don't even remember where he came from; not sure if that's a Mississippi State bias or not).

It's really only a question where a player has a few good years at a school that is relevant, and then transfers to a bigger name school and is more successful for one year. I'm drawing a blank on who that would be although I'm sure there are examples. Mostly people are transferring because they aren't having the impact they want on their current team, or they are taking a big step up.
