Did some starters for EW get injured vs Hibriten?
EW might put 10 in the box and dare MA to throw.
This game may be over by 9pm lol. Neither team wants to really throw. EW moved the ball well for the most part last week against HB. Things they have to clean up like most things after week 1. I def see this one being a one score game or less outcome for either team
Does MA have a kicker this year? I feel like they normally have one that can consistently make the short FG and in a game like this, that could be what wins it. I think it will be a quick, low scoring game.
I too think it will be a close one score game. Very similar teams and styles. I would give the slight edge to Mt Airy because of the line but East has had a week to see what Mt Airy is doing now so that will make a difference in their defensive scheme. Starmount was able to make adjustments after the half that really helped against Mt Airy.
I agree. If east has the game plan defensively that can slow down that strong line and shifty running back they have a chance to stay close and pull one out. I see this game either being very close with east having a chance to win late or MA by 14-17
Mt Airy, cleans up some of last weeks sloppy plays and penalties from good efforts, escapes with a win over an East Wilkes team that played a really good Hibriten team much better than expected. This game could go EW's way if the Bears do not play an error free game.
Not sure how deep varsity numbers go for the bears but EW does not have alot. Could become a factor here as both teams will look to wear each other down with the run game. Either way I think its a 1 score kind of game or closer
Mt Airy is not deep at all and the fall off from #1's to #2's is a LOT.
Mt Airy does have a very good (at least in camps and practice) field goal kicker. However, he is really untested in game situations. my understanding is that he got a lot of attention in college camps.
Must win for both teams. Mt Airy has a tough one next week vs Watauga as well. Hard to imagine this program being 0-2 possibly 3 to start the season. East on the other hand has to find out how good they are. They kind of expected that outcome last week but wanted to keep it close. This game will show what East team will be playing in conference this year.
