Yes Ohio is the perfect neutral site, since no B10 teams are from Ohio………..
And if in Ohio, I'd rather see it in Cleveland than in Columbus.
That's the impression that I got. Doesn't smell right though.
Because it’s in a city where there is a big ten campus….Complete bullsh**.
Is there a city that makes sense that does not have a big ten team in the state? I mean Phoenix makes no sense or LA would be stupid. I guess Miami would be neutral but that make no sense either. Atlanta? Nashville? Also, just because it is in a city like Cleveland does not give the OSU guys that much of an advantage. They still have to sleep in strange beds and are away from home.
Chicago makes sense they've NW and IL is 2 hours away but they don't have huge fan bases. Indianapolis as well they've Purdue & Indiana but neither have big fan bases. Those were cities mentioned before Columbus was named
Are we even sure Ohio State has a “huge” wrestling fan base?
If they want to hold them at neutral sites, and there's cost incurred by teams to travel, why not just keep rotating it among the respective Conference team sites?
St. Louis would be good….. kinda wish they’d leave Nationals there
They aren't going to move it out of the conference wrestling footprint so those are all basically out.
I don't necessarily care that it's in Columbus, but calling it a "neutral site" when it is literally in the hometown of a B1G school, let alone the home of a strong program, is hilarious. At the end of the day, as long as it isn't the permanent home, it isn't a big deal.
There are some constraints given how busy arenas are that time of year, but future sites that might be interesting are Des Moines, Omaha, Chicago (Corby with good rationale), St. Paul (maybe a reach), Indy, Cleveland, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Philly, or somewhere further east. However, many of those places and venues might struggle to enough fans to make it worthwhile. The B12s battle this in the BOK center.
It'd be like calling Xtream Arena a "neutral" site. Lol.
Speaking of that Xtream is in the final 4 to get the 2nd uww rankings series event may 31- June 6 2027. 3 rankings series events will happen and Coralville is the only American city trying to get one . With worlds in Vegas it's sounds like Coralville will get this event
Just rotate it every year between these 4 sites- Cleveland- Pittsburg- Des Moines - STL
Indianapolis would make the most sense. About as centrally located as it can get for most teams in the B1G and absolutely a neutral site. It is where Basketball does it and that seems to go rather well. Still, I wonder if the cost is prohibitive or they wouldn't want to host it with it ending 3 days before the Basketball Tournament starts?

Yes Chicago and Indianapolis location wise work well. Hopefully Columbus is a one time stop before the move to a permanent location in Chicago or Indianapolis
personally I kinda liked the practice of rotating it between the conference venues…..I enjoy attending the BIG tournament every bit as much as Nationals

I miss Midlands too. That was like pre season nationals to me.
What I enjoyed the most was to see the new super recruit who was redshirting run through a bracket. Got to play with the new toy. But with the lack of recruiting lately & 5 in 5 in play... I am not sure the Midlands would feel the same for me nowadays.
If I had to pick between that and the National Duals- I would pick the Duals. I never would have said such a thing 10-15 years ago

That's difficult to define; Des Moines, Chicago, Milwaukee, Omaha, Saint Louis, Detroit, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh? The B1G Wrestling Championships is the showcase event for B1G wrestling. And the event must indeed 'showcase' B1G wrestling!

Nashville would be a great venue. Lots of non wrestling activity.
