Sorry if already discussed, but just pulled this nugget from the new SID’s email about James’ Silver:
…the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club and Penn State Regional Training Center will remain active on the freestyle circuit in the coming months, highlighted by the Poland Open in Warsaw, Poland, beginning Wednesday and concluding Sunday, August 26 through 30. Multiple current Nittany Lions and Penn State alumni will compete in Warsaw in the coming week…

Do we know who all is going?

The OB areas on the mats are really small. I've already seen multiple wrestlers get their heads bounced off the floor and contiuation in GR isn't nearly as prevalent as in Free.

Check around the 7:12:00 on Mat 1. Peak for the US bounced his head enough that side officials were giving the X

Beka Melelashvili in some kind of third through fifth ranking battle right now. They awarded a point for a reversal and then he rolled the opponent near the boundary. Now there is a looooong challenge. Perhaps to decide out of bounds.

As far as I can tell, no other USA wrestlers are in any kind of final round.

Final score, Beka won, looks like a pin, final score 15-6. Bronze for Beka.

I wish they used technology in GR. It would be very easy to have "time with back to closest edge while foot is out of inner circle" set by technology rather than have the mat official decide since so many matches end 1-1.

Greco just needs to go the way of jiu jitsu/grappling.

Everyone being so scared of Karelin is why we still have this monstrosity of a sport in the Olympics. Coulda had 10/11 FS weights.

Looking forward to for tomorrow: State College resident Jennifer Page, a McBryde sister, and, fingers crossed, a Macey Kilty vs Grace Bullen final.

I was looking forward to seeing Luke but what's worrisome is the 57 kg bracket is posted and no USA wrestlers. Darian Cruz is wrestling for Puerto Rico. Hopefully it is placeholder - weigh-ins for that weight class aren't until Sunday.

Manvel Khndzrtsyan-2026-Senior euros-3rd
Nika Zangaladze-2025-U20 euros-2nd (teched U20 champ Ozdamirov)
Roberti Dingashvili

Probably the deepest weight. I still have Blaze and Desanto as the 2 best though. Mukaida is one to watch

Pretty bad weight. I would have Bartlett pretty high but he lost to Zakashvili earlier this year who hasn’t really had another good win

Definitely the weight with the most high end talent. 3 really great Americans and some elite foreigners. Zain keeps getting better every time out. I hope he gets to see Andreasyan

Keck should cruise to the gold. Mykhailov is good but his results this year and last aren’t what they were a few years ago
