Some of the faithful were at the Diner today - not the full crew, but enough and they were not that pleased. I "understand" their position - not support it. Playing NN at the end of the season instead of IMG was a mistake and left no chance for a Natty.

Ranked 24 now, Flyer plays American Heritage this weekend, which just lost to #22 West Boca. Next week, they play #61 Gainesville, which opened and lost to #7 Buford.

No team from Illinois is going to win the national championship in the current landscape. Can’t compare the strength of schedule to that of Texas, California, Florida, Georgia and others. The playoffs are a killer. Even in 7A, ESL may get two teams that are tough. Let’s say it is Batavia and Brother Rice, where are those teams ranked nationally compared to the opponents of teams in those other states. Best in Illinois and the Midwest seems realistic

The best teams in Illinois wouldn't get past the quarters in the big classes in Texas. There are levels to all of this.

Up to #15 in the Rivals composite, but a number of schools haven't started their season yet.

I believe all ESL opponents except for Belleville West lost last week, and Belleville West beat fellow ESL opponent Alton.

Good point. I was going to reply with the same sentiments but broke my pattern by waiting... Winning the state championship should be the goal...
