UNC Field Hockey 2026-2027

Well, it was too good to be true I guess. I feel bad for our athletes who were hopeful and partaking in season activities.
Not a lawyer, but I am pretty sure that this means the merits of the case are still not yet been decided. This only removes the TOS that allowed athletes to play while the case is still in court.
Granted, depending on how long the case takes, that could effectively rule out fall semester athletes like field hockey.
Also there are tons of class action cases across the country of groups. this does not overturn any of those smaller class rulings. To my knowledge, the BCAA has not yet won any cases anywhere?
Anyone please correct me if I am wrong.
I was told we trailed 2-0 after 1Q when the match was called due to weather.
We were down 2-0 mid-4Q when a weather delay was announced, and it was called before we got out of the stadium. Had 1 goal overturned on review, and one disallowed (not sure what the call was on that one). Team looked very tentative (to my untrained eye).
They are very young. This is going to be a learning year for the both the team as well as Erin; however, I love the expectations EM has for them. I believe in what she has stated. Talent, believe, and confidence can overcome you being a freshman. I agree with her on that. It will take some time though. We as fans must have patience with her and the team.
Tied at the end of regulation. Wake won the shootout. The Wake GK was very aggressive (one stroke was called, but it was close on 2 others).
We have a young team & it shows. They looked disorganized at times, but the foundation is there. Let’s see if a vocal leader emerges. Of the rookies, I think Sofia looked most ready for the college game.
Also: Imme was hurt in warmups; I didn’t see it happen, but she did not play. Reese left with an ankle roll (I think) during the game.

Good luck to you, as well. Mia S is one of the most exciting players in college. I think Wake held their own without her, but they missed the long aerials and drag flicks.
Wake corner defense was strong. And the team was, for the most part, quick to the ball in the field. They made some very athletic plays.
Phume & Ava M & Montag looked solid & ready to roll.
Room to grow? Connections & get rid of the ball faster.
Wow, talk about bad luck. How can a player get hurt during warm-ups? I feel for Imme. Does anyone know exactly what happened? This is very rare that a player will get hurt warming up. I hope and pray that it is nothing serious. Scrimmaging both Duke and WF is good for us and the team. Now EM and staff have film on what was exposed and what are weaknesses are before we play Michigan.

#10 USA wins vs #12 Ireland 3-1 and thus wins their consolation pool.
USA will play #7 England on Thursday Aug 27th at 8 AM in the 9th/10th place game to determine the top team in the consolation bracket. England was arguably the surprise upset team in terms of not making the winner's pool in round 1.
Heck started, D'Ariano and Dixon both played.
Interesting note: Australia will advance to the semifinals despite not winning any matches in their winners pool: a three-way tie was broken on goals scored

Katie had not played at all until today, not even listed on the roster as a sub for any of the fixtures. Her parents were/are still there and got to see her play this morning. And team USA won (as you pointed out).

I was thinking the same thing 3397Char, but I will take it for now. I do expect us to take some losses at the beginning of this season. The same as in soccer. This team is very talented, but they will be lacking experience; especially in the tight games; however, if these freshmen are fearless with a very high level of confidence, then I think we will be fine. Go Heels!

Yes, Sofia and Morgan started against WFU. I did not see Imme and Devon on the pitch. Cecily played more than M. Nussbaumer and Micky. Tessa played well I think in the 2nd half of regulation. To me, Sofia stood out. Those are the newcomers. I am hopeful that we field a healthy team that defends well, connects passes, advances the ball out of its defensive third, and gets a positive result inside the circle.

Unfortunately, Floor Holzenbach is not "rounding out North Carolina's incoming class"as is stated in this article.
She is far from an insider. Word on the street is that a lot of college coaches are decidedly not fans. I wish she were a better writer.
But she has lots of followers, several big clients, and the girls love when they are highlighted.

Not to get too into it, but Allison made a career of hockey stats after her college career ended due to injury. I’ve heard through the grapevine that some coaches don’t like her approach & there seems to be some bad blood in a few instances.
I fully believe that Allison loves hockey. I also believe that she really likes her platform/limelight & would like to compete with Max re: king (or I guess, queen) making.

Current member of the U18 National team. Listed as midfielder/defender. Has had great success with her high school team since day one, posting 26G & 17A in her freshman year. Sophomore year posted 37G & 15A.

I have my own opinions about Ms. Keefe. She has her narratives she likes to push, and does not seem to enjoy reporting about UNC. Our last undefeated season you wouldn’t have had any idea looking at any of her social media. She also tried to dub Abby Tamer as ‘the Caitlin Clark of field hockey’…. (this got zero traction). Tamer is a good player, but that’s all she ever was in my opinion. Rarely stood out in her college days.
In my opinion, we already had our ‘Caitlin Clark of field hockey’…

What I know about her is from this forum and the single article above.
I do not have access to any SM except tweeter now X which I was required to have for work quiet some time ago. I kept X for UNC Field Hockey.
Thank you, minas823. IMO. that is an untenable proposition to advance and she failed to use a FH player for the comparison. When I saw charts, graphs and photos referred to on this forum, I noticed. What source is publicly available for me to cross check her veracity?
