Spanberger ended Virginia’s 287(g) agreements...that is not the same as banning police from enforcing state criminal law or preventing ICE from doing its own job. In this case, Loudoun County deputies investigated the overdose cases, executed search warrants, arrested Melendez-Carranza, and he is being held without bond on drug-distribution charges. ICE has already lodged a detainer, and the sheriff says he will be transferred to ICE after the local case is resolved.

If the prior admin failed to deport him after a removal order, then yes, blast away. But that is NOT what you posted and it doesnt make your OP any truer. Loudoun police arrested him, he's held without bond and ICE has a detainer. So once again, what did Spanberger prevent in this case?

If the actual policy is "ending certain 287(g) agreements while still allowing local police to investigate crimes, make arrests, execute warrants, and coordinate with ICE," then saying the governor "banned police from cooperating with ICE" is deliberately misleading shorthand. ...and I assume that was your intention???
