Yeah, I was surprised b/c the SEC first just had a statement saying they were opposed to the notion of former NFL players returning to college. Looked like it would just be empty words. Then they released the statement saying it wouldn't be allowed.

It could get ugly if Lane proceeds and then Sankey hands down punishment and Lane sues etc.

Apparently the vote to adopt the ban against NFL players coming back to college was 16-0, which means the LSU AD/president voted for it.

SEC joined B1G shortly after B1G 10 conference made their announcement.
SEC went further banning players from NBA and WNBA.

Now MBB teams have been bringing players from the European Leagues for a while. I'm curious what if any rulings may address this topic.

May need to work something out with these 2022 kids given the timing of the 5 for 5 rule coming out, but the SEC needs to keep their directive in place. Anybody after 2022 gets 5 for 5. Also, you forfeit the remaining years of the 5 if you declare for a professional draft and don't withdraw by a set date. Lawyers for the NCAA and the conferences need to be working more on the front end (Drafting rules) instead of on the back end (Fighting Litigation).
