A national treasure. She will be missed.
She was in Nebraska for a concert I believe in the late 70s and a friend of a friend (female) got to meet her as part of the concert staff. She said her face was more beautiful in person than with all the makeup when she performed. Said she was a truly kind person. Looked it up. State Fair Sept 1, 1978.

Is 80 too soon? That seems to me a nice long life. I mean people are regularly living into 80’s and some times longer, but, 80 is pretty old
I mean, for an 80 year old female celebrity it’s a little on the younger side. My grandmother who’s in a lot worse shape is 89 and will be 90 in November. My grandfather who had a hereditary heart condition lived to 88.

They sound like tough birds, and yeah, some people live longer, but 80 is old. And, not to go off on a tangent, do people want to live into late 80’s and 90’s?

Good question. My dad is in his late 70's and still regularly hikes out west. I think his quality of life will still be pretty dang good in 5 or 10 years. Have an inlaw who is 91 and she still drives, takes grandkids to summer practices, etc.

I would like to think I could enjoy watching a lot of sports from a recliner or even watch a bobber from lawn chair, even if I didn't get around so well at 90.

I'll be honest with you. Dolly reminded me of my wife. Beautiful on the outside and even more beautiful on the inside. A classy lady. When you met her you knew you met someone special.

I am in agreement . If they are living? An 85 year old that can’t get around or in a nursing home is not living. They just won’t die for whatever reason.
