Beamer has no idea if Stewart can play or not. There is no way to tell until he gets hit on in practice to see how he reacts and if his back can withstand game speed and collisions.

I'm not too worried about Stewart that way. He could have easily transferred to a much more relevant program for more money if he wanted to. I think he wants to play.

All coaches are. They always say a player is "day to day". I've seen players miss an entire season being described as "day to day" in every press conference. "Getting better", "showing improvement", "participating in some drills" are all coach speak about player injury status.

He can't do that because we allow him to continue playing his games because we don't have anyone to take his position.
