It is bad to take a local picture of Boiling Springs and pretend it is Belmont. I wish we had a couple of these houses in Belmont.

The "level" of CC football:
Level 1: Recruit other people's children because yours aren't good enough...including local more rural areas. Going to BC, Chase, TJ or across the border to poach players is just like kicking the handicapped after they've fallen out of a wheelchair.
Level 2: Have massive fraud at the programs plus rigged school system personnel, social deviants, AAU basketball hanger on types and charlatans.
Level 3; Pretend that the play and talent within the county is far superior to others....yet....see level 1.
Level 4: Live in squalor, have an alarming body odor whilst in public but also self-delude yourself thinking you are part of some mystical football royalty. Some call this being a West Virginia Beauty Queen. They need to make a remake of 'Mississippi Queen' song for CC football. "West Virginny Queeen.......you know what I mean"

Of course he didn’t start there, but SP Posters are going to say he wasn’t recruited he came on his own which is true. His mom is a SP grad and she absolutely still had/has friends at SP telling her she should leave and come to SP (which where the program was 2 years ago at SC, they were completely right to tell her that). Were they coaches (no), were they players and parents of kids on the team, and fans (yes).

I can speak from experience on this CC recruits situation. I or my son have never had one coach ask him to come to their school, however we have had players, players parents, and fans of every school in CC (except Burns) ask us to come to their school. Do I think that is recruiting, I do not and I think that is how most kids end up at different schools.

Just my two cents, which Sausages has politely said doesn’t mean anything (and he is right or at least my wife agrees he is right).

Normally, that stuff is done in a much sneakier way. That is not just in CC, that is all over. No Coach with half a brain would be dumb enough to directly recruit that way.

I may have misunderstood but I thought the state title response was for Gaston County. 4 for SP and 1 for Ashbrook. If not then you may be correct on the 70's.

Kids/men are going from the NFL back to college, colleges paying the players but they’re not employees…. so there’s a few. ‍

I always love this. Nobody recruited him. He got out of a program that is what it is. Also....name a fullback from the flexbone (any flexbone...not SPs) that hasn't put up big numbers. It's paint by numbers. How do you know SP is better off now anyway?

I wonder about the kids who encouraged him to come & their motives. SP wasn't missing anything when he came last year. Competition at SP is pretty stiff....there isn't a lot of encouragement to come make getting on the field harder.

I don't know that there was a competition. But I do know that many a 170 lb tough kids have played FB at SP and gained 1800 plus yards on the regular. There are probably 4-5 each year who could be that guy. Some years a guy is picked and he isn't the best pick maybe - but 1800 plus yards still get put up. Not a shot against anybody - just facts. Whoever they put there gets lots of carries and lots of yards. The offense takes care of the numbers. It is no different than some of these high attempt QBs who put up big #s.

I agree with you, that the position and system puts up the #’s. We would love to have him back, and I personally think he should be playing LB for you guys. Again just my opinion, that is all these boards are for anyway. If you don’t believe me just ask the Crest guys they are full of opinions, and love to express them on a daily basis.
