It is bad to take a local picture of Boiling Springs and pretend it is Belmont. I wish we had a couple of these houses in Belmont. This is the place for the one Belmont redneck and maybe one other person to speak on their Pride for Gaston County Football. Here we are all one literally. We welcome any new ideas to get us to the level of Cleveland County.

North Gaston: Horrendous
Ashbrook: Horrendous
Forestview: Horrendous
Hunter Huss: Horrendous

I understand now the disdain for CC, yall suck comparatively, always have and always will... but hey yall beat Hickory which was a good accomplishment, so SP may make it to round three this year

The "level" of CC football:
Level 1: Recruit other people's children because yours aren't good enough...including local more rural areas. Going to BC, Chase, TJ or across the border to poach players is just like kicking the handicapped after they've fallen out of a wheelchair.
Level 2: Have massive fraud at the programs plus rigged school system personnel, social deviants, AAU basketball hanger on types and charlatans.
Level 3; Pretend that the play and talent within the county is far superior to others....yet....see level 1.
Level 4: Live in squalor, have an alarming body odor whilst in public but also self-delude yourself thinking you are part of some mystical football royalty. Some call this being a West Virginia Beauty Queen. They need to make a remake of 'Mississippi Queen' song for CC football. "West Virginny Queeen.......you know what I mean"

Done the right way....in Gaston County overcoming every disadvantage.
Start playing by the same set of rules Gaston co does and see where you end up. Give back all the Gaston co players while you are at it. We all know you cant...without school boards keeping your lines drawn "correctly" and raiding other school systems you would be where you belong. Pound that cleveland county football chest as long as you can.
Oh they are further west than that for sureWord on the street is they all got stuck at Kings Mtn and went no further west than that.
But what do I know... I heard that through the KM/Gastonia pipeline
Oh they are further west than that for sure
Of course he didn’t start there, but SP Posters are going to say he wasn’t recruited he came on his own which is true. His mom is a SP grad and she absolutely still had/has friends at SP telling her she should leave and come to SP (which where the program was 2 years ago at SC, they were completely right to tell her that). Were they coaches (no), were they players and parents of kids on the team, and fans (yes).Done the right way? So your starting fullback has always been there? Also, you have 4 titles, not 5.
Got us....you found the one player that moved to our district. FACT...yall keep bringing up the fullback shows you have nothing else to talk about and proves my point. Now.... do you want us to go through crests roster? Lets discuss how many of those "free" meals are filling up Gaston county and South Carolina kids stomachs!Done the right way? So your starting fullback has always been there? Also, you have 4 titles, not 5.
It is very rare to see a coach or someone higher up on the staff directly reach out to parents. They are not dumb enough to expose themselves that way. If they do it would be in person to cover their tracks. Technology is massive now so all it takes is a screenshot or recording to completely expose a coach. Normally, that stuff is done in a much sneakier way. That is not just in CC, that is all over. No Coach with half a brain would be dumb enough to directly recruit that way.Of course he didn’t start there, but SP Posters are going to say he wasn’t recruited he came on his own which is true. I can speak from experience on this CC recruits situation. I or my son have never had one coach ask him to come to their school, however we have had players, players parents, and fans of every school in CC (except Burns) ask us to come to their school. Do I think that is recruiting, I do not and I think that is how most kids end up at different schools.
Just my two cents, which Sausages has politely said doesn’t mean anything (and he is right or at least my wife agrees he is right).
Exactly, I just don’t consider what most people are doing, who are only affiliated with the school because they went there or have a kid their recruiting, and I think that is how most kids end up at other schools. It is very rare to see a coach or someone higher up on the staff directly reach out to parents. I may have misunderstood but I thought the state title response was for Gaston County. 4 for SP and 1 for Ashbrook. If not then you may be correct on the 70's.4 state titles. One way back in the 70s and then 03 09 and 16. Stop making up fake championships to try to keep up with Crest.

I always love this. Nobody recruited him. He got out of a program that is what it is. Also....name a fullback from the flexbone (any flexbone...not SPs) that hasn't put up big numbers. It's paint by numbers. How do you know SP is better off now anyway?Done the right way? So your starting fullback has always been there? Also, you have 4 titles, not 5.
I wonder about the kids who encouraged him to come & their motives. SP wasn't missing anything when he came last year. Competition at SP is pretty stiff....there isn't a lot of encouragement to come make getting on the field harder.Of course he didn’t start there, but SP Posters are going to say he wasn’t recruited he came on his own which is true. So if he wasn't there last year, who would have played FB? Blee? Heard those rumblings last summer from some South Point faithfulI wonder about the kids who encouraged him to come & their motives. Can’t speak to that. I was actually backing your argument that he left a bad situation and had family ties to SP. However we both know he was the immediate starter the first day in the building as a 15 years old Sophmore and (you might be completely right that SP didn’t need him and would have been just as good without him but your on an island) every coach, fan, player, raves and raves about his work ethic and how important he is to the success of the team.I wonder about the kids who encouraged him to come & their motives. Without mentioning names and this and that....I think that was an open position to fill last year. He fit the body profile for sure. The last comment...I wish that were always true. It is a lot of times but not always. I think the APC vs. good defenses will show this year. Gonna get 30 plus carries a game probably so like I say he will have yards. Name me one in the last 26 years who hasn't been 1500 yards if he had 200 plus carries in a normal season. The ONLY time that has happened and time was split at FB was during that "down" time that Shelby likes to refer to so often. Can’t speak to that. If you had someone better (which I haven’t heard but one person say you do) they would be playing because this kid is not home grown and doesn’t have a mom leading the Big Red Booster Club, which just proves how much better he is than the next man up.
Him (or another 1 or 2) with Rumph at QB wouldn't have hurt nobody's feelings after a game or two, I promise. I'm not second guessing the staff- they do a great job. But- you asked the question. So if he wasn't there last year, who would have played FB? Blee? Heard those rumblings last summer from some South Point faithful
You’re the only person I have heard say there was a competition for that position. I’m not saying you’re wrong, I just have literally not heard any one say that.Without mentioning names and this and that....I think that was an open position to fill last year. I don't know that there was a competition. But I do know that many a 170 lb tough kids have played FB at SP and gained 1800 plus yards on the regular. There are probably 4-5 each year who could be that guy. Some years a guy is picked and he isn't the best pick maybe - but 1800 plus yards still get put up. Not a shot against anybody - just facts. Whoever they put there gets lots of carries and lots of yards. The offense takes care of the numbers. It is no different than some of these high attempt QBs who put up big #s.You’re the only person I have heard say there was a competition for that position. If he didn’t get begged to come, I would bet he would get begged to stay by every single person on their staff this year along with 99% of their players who don’t think they should be the fullback.
I agree with you, that the position and system puts up the #’s. We would love to have him back, and I personally think he should be playing LB for you guys. Again just my opinion, that is all these boards are for anyway. If you don’t believe me just ask the Crest guys they are full of opinions, and love to express them on a daily basis.I don't know that there was a competition. I think Cherryville has a really good chance to win a few playoff games this year. They have some decent skill players.Has there every been a Cherryville Ironman poster on these boards? I do not remember one. I know Coach Bowman is working really hard at Cherryville and they are off to a 1 and 0 start.
You would be surprised. I use to believe that also. How naive I was lol.It is very rare to see a coach or someone higher up on the staff directly reach out to parents. Cherryville fast ... or fast fast?My buddy is a track coach, when I asked him about Cherryville he said them boys are crazy fast.
Raiders.... then maybe KramerSince this is a Gaston County thread, which Gaston County team will be the last one standing in the playoffs this year?
