Assistant AD for Strategic Intelligence is a weird one. And you would think someone could make a decent website. The Nebraska site sucks.

This is the bullshlt I have talked about in several posts. It's a madeup title because Rhule is taking care of his buddies.

"Sean Padden is in his third season at Nebraska in 2025. Padden is in his first season as the Huskers' Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Intelligence after spending his first two seasons on staff as Nebraska's General Manager. Padden has worked with Matt Rhule in 11 of Rhule’s 13 seasons as a head coach."

Look at this bullshlt job description. He came from UNLV and my guess is he's Colandrea's personal assistant.

Developmental Performance Quality Control
Shelby Lickliter is in his first season on the Nebraska staff in 2026. Lickliter serves as a developmental performance quality control coach.

Hate **** like that. Creating jobs for friends. I wish I knew if others did the same but honestly it doesn't matter. Hire people in there particular field.

Is it crazy that I would love to see a job description and salary for each position? Talk about a state losing it's ****. They would probably run Rhule outta there before the season lol.

I wish I could say I am surprised or disappointed. But this is pretty much exactly what I expected when Alberts handed the keys to the program over to this goober. Rhule’s agent is a wild overachiever, to say the least.

Rhule is winning at something anyway.
I thought you were good Christian, with good character, morals, and principles. Almost everybody does a job with the express contract that they will provide a fair service and not cheat the customer even if they could make a bit more or have an easier time. The world is run by servants who make enough to survive or have a decent life but also provide services to others. I know big time coaches are slime balls but Rhule is obviously an outlier in his money-making vs. production. He can't take the money with him, and he is almost surely going to have no respect to his name nor legacy of goodness left behind. What is 100 million going to do for him when his heart gives out in 10 years? 100 dollars are 100 million he will go down as a sad loser.

I think you mean winning covers all sins. No, it doesn't, but he would at least be doing his job. Remember this is the guy who had to be begged to actually coach a position, then did backwards hat, and his position group got their **** shoved in by a JV Utah team. He gets paid 5 million to do podcasts and promote his own NIL, where only 25% goes to players, the rest to himself. So it looks like he doesn't do ****. So there is context.

The grift is real - felt it after Rhule got his massive raise. Almost like Tamney hall patronage fake jobs back in the day. Embarrassing - pigs feeding at the trough. Foley, Satt front and center. Lost the only coaches that were any good, White and Eck.
Feels like a Broken Arrow situation and it sucks.

That’s the whole point! when you spend top-tier money on an army of 70+ staff members, you’re paying for elite results. If you aren't winning at that level, pointing out organizational bloat isn't 'complaining,' it's holding an expensive program accountable
Typical corporate stuff going on…..until the boss is forced to make changes due to poor results. Then they have to make cuts.

Is that good?

JFC…
Damon Benning got hired on for a job that I'm pretty sure at least three other people are already doing. His title is different of course.

I'm pissed that we're being told to donate more money and pay more for tickets by a guy who on a daily basis works with about 40 people who have little to nothing to do all day. Unless you count golf.

There's a guy with nothing to offer. He's a yes man. He has no new ideas or different perspectives. Probably making more money than everyone on this board too.

Ok so Dannon wants us to pony up to pay kids and coaches who make more annually than 95 percent of the fans. Meanwhile teams spending less than us consistently kick our behinds. Meanwhile our head guy gets a $25 million raise.

yeah this won’t age well. It’s embarrassing how bold this grift is getting to be. There is a reason the coaching fraternity rarely speaks against one of their own. Recycle , repeat, employ your buddies at astronomical salaries and always land on your feet if you have a pulse.

Of course - you hire your buddies 16 year old looking rookie coach at 250k not bad for a starting salary. Same for Holgerson or any other buddy who needs a favor. So easy to spend other people’s money- like a drunken sailor in port for the first time in 3 years.

Law of diminishing returns. Remember this from Econ class? Maximum output is probably with 40 staff members (probably less) anything over that and they aren't doing any better. A lot more than that (60+) and they are hurting themselves-- mixed messages, too many management layers, indecision, contradiction, infighting. I bet they have all of that in that clown show. I bet they spend 3/4 of their days sending each other e-mail.

Literally every major problem has more than 40 including two named ( OSU and Oregon) on here that have 60 plus .

I looked at this the other day. Damon's job title is Director of Player Development & Brand Strategy. Now I didn't find anything that says specifically what Damon will be doing but my guess is player relationship building, improving performance, and something to do with marketing & branding? There's a ton of overlap lots of guys in player development and brand strategy (including the Senior Director of Football Creative & Branding).

There are other people who do roles like (I'll copy and paste)- Senior Director of Football Creative & Branding (as I mentioned), Player Development Assistant, five people in strength and conditioning, GM, Assistant GM, Director of Football Relations, Director of Player Retention, Director of Business Operations, Director of Graphic Design, Coordinator of Graphic Design, Director of Football Mental Health and Performance.

There are overlaying in every position at every school. But Damon has the title that no one has just like the guys at OSU or Oregon etc.. i just think the people that don’t like Rhule just find stuff that has zero to do with the product on the field to ***** about.

Isn't that part of the problem though. If it has zero to do with the product that's on the field why do we even have the position to begin with? Everything and I do mean EVERYTHING should be about improving the product on the field. Be it strength and conditioning, nutrition, recovery...literally EVERYTHING. So if it's not making the product on the field better you have to ask yourself whats the purpose? What are we doing?

Listen I'm one of the guys who ISNT completely out on Rhule yet. I actually think he's done some things that HAVE made us a better team/program than the last staff. But not nearly enough to **** your head in the sand and act as if all is good in la la land.

You add this to what Dannen came out and said about basically "needing more money" and it kinda raises your antennas. Seems like a lot of money is being spent on things that may not be helping the product on the field.

As a fan at what point do you stopping shooting "good money" at "bad money"? Is the rate of return worth the investment? Im not a big wig donor but I'm sure these guys having to be thinking something similar. At least I would.
