Roll the dice

Saint Stephens- play like last night, no prob but seems Bunker Hill alittle tougher than last year or Draughn is just really that bad.

East Lincoln- 7 points in a close one

East Burke- on a limb on this one. A nail bitter win by 6 and a game that may decide how rest of season might look and could go either way. Hey 2015 they got killed by Freedom and still went 3rd round so no need yet to write them off after losing to a really good team.

Hickory- shake off loss and get back in step. These 2 used to have pretty even close games back in the day. Either AC doing better or Newton slightly overrated or had a bad game last night OR all 3.

AC Reynolds- a real close one, 10 point or less seperation

Newton Conover - gets their mo-jo back alittle with this one.

Lincolnton- If Agee is all the way ready and defense plays like they did last night this shouldn't be a runaway game. Wolves by 21.

West Iredell- Punter stays home and starters out after 3 or 4 drives. No need for injury risks in this one with best team in a WHILE. Legendary South Caldwell RB Pollard torn ACL in a game well decided sound familar?!


Hibriten - no comment they got this. Someone lay out how South looks I hadn't got word. Help us out with that one Beamer

Coach brown couldn't get approval for everything thing from county. Matter of fact they took away extra seating from stadium to give girls softball field lights. (Like they really needed lights ) . But coach byrne wanted to bring back the tradition of tunnel under stands. And got approval finally to have it done with booster money. That's my understanding on the process.
But in my opinion it really helps the new stadium feel a little more like maiden tradition

To point out a silver lining for Maiden from Friday night. They held Lincolnton to 84 passing yards and 101 rushing yards. Littlejohn had 9 yard and Mayfield had 12 yards. Lynch had too many but 80 yards is respectable against his scrambling ability.. Messiah had 44 yards receiving and only offensive TD to lead wr's.

I think our defensive get better as the year goes along also especially if the two freshmen defensive tackles can't get better. And the offense will find its footing

I think Hickory rolls. From what I've heard second hand...Hickory had a lot of turnovers...they clean that up they'll be just fine.

First game jitters happens to some teams. With new EB coach and plays maybe they iron things out better against Foard. Hickory will be fine, Alexander Central is better no doubt but we’ll see if Newton is just overrated. AC won 3 games last year if I looked at that right and a JV RB from AC transferred to EB.

North Lincoln game with the Ltown boys will show us if that D that played so well at WL was reallly untested. The run game was only 2 and 3 yard bits here and there against WL front D, and this Friday it maybe yard or less if Agee ain’t playing. Anyone got word on his play status?

Good question but AC lost a ton of games last year. If they only lose to Hickory by 14 or even 21 we’ll know they ain’t no joke.

Sounds like a solid defense for the first game of the season, but I don’t think Maiden offense scored on Lincolnton, so does that mean Lincolnton have a solid defense as well, I heard Maiden was on the one yard line and could not get in, that’s pretty impressive from Lincolnton.

And on the other play watts reached the ball over goal line and Lincolnton player knocked it loose but broke the line first. Ref called fumble and touchback. Ultimately the ref gets final say so they weren't TDs. But I saw the plays at eye level and less than 15 feet away

This is a link to some of the action and highlights in the Lincolnton at Maiden game. Both teams played and hit each other really hard. The video is around 20 some minutes long.

The two touchdowns that AMD said Maiden scored are at the 15 minute mark; and the other is at 17 minutes and 45 seconds. I’m not able to tell.

If someone likes a lot of defense, this would have been a game you could have enjoyed.
