SIAP...

Is an out and out lie. He claims Rob Sand is a billionaire - HIS words. Now, ROB Sand's wife comes from a somewhat rich family, but Rob Sand is about $998M give or take short of being a billionaire.

ROBERT Sands (no relation nor association whatsoever) IS a billionaire, he's executive chair of Constellation Brands.

My gawd, how can someone running for office screw up this bad? Oh yeah, you're a republican carpetbagging idiot. I guess if you're trailing in polls and have to overcome the fact that you DON'T LIVE IN THE STATE YOU'RE TRYING TO BECOME GOVERNOR IN...yeah, you're gonna lie your *** off to any potential idiots that might vote for you.

I love his ads about how he cherishes clean water.

Lahn is married to billionaires. He licks Trump's billionaire butthole every chance he gets. He loves Elon for chrissake.

This is really the best Kansas boy can come up with to avoid having to talk about high gas prices, no job creation, and a president who falls asleep during every cabinet meeting?

I do know Sands first big ad buy featured a big lie. " You look around and chances are your neighbor could be a Chinese corporation... "
Fact: Chinese own 256 - 540 acres out of what - 36,014,720 Iowa acres. Why can't any of these people try to be honest when the facts are easy to find...

In other news, Hinson is bragging about how she's going to throw a big party with Ted Cruz next weekend. People can't afford homes, gas, or beef and the Republican response always seems to be more parties.

View the ad HERE and see a full transcript below:

“I’m Rob Sand.

I love that in Iowa, you can count on your neighbors to look out for your place or to lend a hand.

But too often these days,

your neighbor is a home owned by a hedge fund,

a farm owned by China,

or a data center that’s getting huge tax breaks while our bills go up.

It’s wrong…

I say, we keep Iowa homes and land in Iowa hands.

And work on bringing down costs for Iowans, too.”

Looks like this has already been addressed Rob...

Gov. Kim Reynolds on Tuesday ( April 2024 ) signed into law new reporting requirements — and harsher penalties — related to foreign farmland ownership in Iowa.

The governor signed Senate File 2204, a measure she has called for since the beginning of the 2024 legislative session. Reynolds said Iowa plays an important role in America’s food chain and when Iowa speaks on threats to American agriculture, the country listens.

“With this bill, our message is unmistakable,” Reynolds said. “American soil belongs in American hands.”

The law will grant the state attorney general, currently Republican Brenna Bird, more powers on oversight related to foreign land ownership, including the ability to subpoena foreign landowners for financial records and land purchase agreements for investigations into potential violations of foreign farmland owner restrictions.

While Reynolds and Republicans have praised Iowa’s strong laws restricting foreign farmland ownership — existing law limits foreign farmland purchases to 320 acres, with those who had farmland before 1980 allowed to retain their land ownership — advocates said the measure was necessary to better identify and address potential violations on foreign farmland restrictions in Iowa.

Most foreign owned land in Iowa is held by Canadians...

I'm still leaning on voting for him, I'd like to see Iowa get back to more purple. I just wished he didn't insult the farm voting block who know that China owns next to nothing in Iowa...

That's some pretty thin skin.

I sincerely hope me saying the thin skin thing doesn't further insult this block or you. I just found your choice to immediately change the subject without comment to be odd.

I listened to him and looked up his claims. There IS a Robert Sand who is a billionaire. Just not the Sand running for governor. Also he’s lying about Sand costing Iowans $7500 each. Republicans can’t win on policy so they have to lie.
well we can all be grateful that candidates or elected officials from at least one of our parties are honest and never lie to us

I think the funniest lie is Carhartt Rob telling us he’s “bipartisan”. Maybe he confused that with bisexual? 😂

Funny to me was Rob Sand's town hall meeting in Belle Plaine last week. That's the town Wichita Zach claims as his home town now.
Pretty clever of his campaign to hold the Benton County meeting there, when most times they're scheduled in the County seat town.

We drive through Belle Plaine at least once a week for various reasons. I have yet to see a Lahn for Governor sign in the city.
Apparently even the locals don't like him.

You never addressed my initial post. A couple of huge falsehoods that Independent voters like myself see right through. Won't help his candidacy if he's not truthful. That's why we want Trump out, right?

Yes, that's me. Trump '16, Biden '20, Chase Oliver '24...Three sides actually...

Sand’s is misleading because he takes real things—Chinese-owned farmland and investor-owned homes—and makes them sound like a much bigger problem in Iowa than the numbers show. But Lahn’s is worse factually. There is no evidence that Sand is a billionaire or that he wants to raise the average Iowan’s taxes $7,500 a year. So basically, Sand exaggerates the scale of things that are real, while Lahn makes specific claims that the evidence doesn’t support.

One thing I'll mention because I have a friend that's attended a Lahn gathering.
His campaign is/was screening attendees at the door.

Given that we've seen video of some Sand town halls, some self proclaimed die hard GOP have attended and have asked him questions.

FYI

Thank you. Yeah 500/36 million is a huge exaggeration. I haven't paid too much attention to Lahn because don't intend to vote for any Rs this time around. I want the pendulum to swing back to the middle. Gridlock beats either party in control...

Fearmongering exaggerations have proven very successful for Republicans. (i.e. men in women's sports, immigrants coming from asylums, all Democrats are communists, etc.) It's no wonder Democrats are trying the same tactics.

Personally I wish all attack ads were outlawed. I'd like to hear what each candidate is for instead of only talking about their opposition.

He registered to vote in Iowa in October 2024 in order to be eligible. Whether he actually lives in Iowa is another question. But you already know that.

Whether he lives in Iowa is the only question. If facts are such to indicate that he doesn't, why hasn't Sand filed legal action? Why haven't any other Ds filed legal action. In other words, put up or shut up.

You do realize the majority of Judges in this State were appointed by Branstad and the Dim One?

It would be waste of time and $$$.

I'm not sure what narrative Lahn can use against Sand but this line of attack probably isn't it. Lahn is behind in the polls by a pretty good clip, so he will need something that isn't based on such a stupid lie.

Just admit it, you and your D friends are perfectly content keeping the narrative going, regardless of whether it's based in fact.
and you and your MAGA friends are perfectly content to vote for him even though he doesn't care enough about Iowa to actually live here and raise his kids here. How does your "Iowan" candidate not know that school can't start before the state fair is over?

Northern voted for a convicted felon. His standards are not high. You just have to be a piece of shid with an R next to your name, and he'll vote for ya. Northern isn't a complex person. He's quite simple and easily got.
