I've been noticing it the whole time. It leads outside. I'm assuming you have to go outside to go in another part of the building. People are going in and out of it constantly.
My guess is you gotta go out to go up or the warm up mats are in a different building

Boyles win was over defending bronze and it wasn't even close. That really surprised me almost as much as Togoev's lack of a gas tank.

Robideau is on deck on B, James in the hole on C. If Robideau runs long I'll switch pbp to James instead of doing both mats since this is a Penn State board.

Once again, our pace and conditioning wins out. What did Robideau give up a penalty point for? I didn't see anything.

The turnaround for James will be fast he will be up for his match against Perentin in 7 matches on mat C probably 45 minutes
What a perfect session for our wrestlers! We are starting to pull away in the team race also. We now lead Japan by 28 and Russia by 30. We have six wrestlers in the Championship bracket and two in Consolation while Japan and Russia only have three in the Championship bracket and one in Consolation. The only question now is do I try to get a few hours of sleep or try to power through today with no sleep and go to bed at a reasonable hour tonight?

I'm trying to decide if this is an amazing performance by the Americans as all 10 will wrestle for a medal at a minimum or a terrible performance by traditional powers Russia and Iran but it's probably a little bit of both.

I wouldn't call it that.

There was an offer out there at one time, but when it came time for the re-recruiting (and the likely back-and-forth stuff), the staff just basically stopped recruiting him. At least that's what I heard.

You've heard it posted here before - they want guys who want to be here, those are the guys that have success. It's not some BS, and that's the attitude. It will likely result in Googles being very disappointed more than a few more times in the future and posting a screed examining the staff's decision making. Again.
Thank you for that. As usual, just like buying a house or hiring a new employee or choosing a college, it’s never as simple as “didn’t want X”. There are a million considerations, negotiations, and limitations in finance, etc. Never simple as “staff didn’t want him”.

Boyle vs Tsarikaev Belarus 97kg semis

Boyle is a little thicker BLR has long arms.

1st

Boyle is giving up center to start but that's his style. Snags an underhook to step out up 1-0. Boyle forces another underhook step out. Looks much stronger. Single to step out 3-0 and a fleeing 4-0. Boyle is driving BLR all over the mat with a righty underhook another stop out 5-0. Spins on the edge for another step out. 6-0. And another 7-0. BLR pummling head to keep distance. Boyle feet to back. Missed if TF or fall. 2:37. One of the most dominant performances I can remember. It was a fall.

Ross vs Dursonov AZE 125kg semis

Ross is the lighter of the two. AZE holding enter to start. AZE arm spin ruled slip. Ross warned first. Ross goes on the clock first. Not a lot of action as clock expires 1-0 AZE. AZE warned as standard practice. Both get warned for fingers. 1-0 AZE at the break

2nd

Fake shot by AZE. Half shot by Ross. AZE goes on the clock. 1-1 Ross with 2 mins left. Ross with some fakes. Ross with double to step out 2-1 Ross on first committed attack. Ross half reaches for an ankle to nothing. Counters AZE for a TD 4-1. Ross wins 4-1 but maybe the anointing oil needs to be put back in the case.

There’s been a lot of speculation in some of the other threads regarding Jayden James and the Penn State lineup. Should Jayden take a gap year or should he enroll full time, start the clock running on 5 for 5, and go for broke?

Does it mean anything that KD has been the coach in Jayden’s corner for his first 3 matches and no coach from the NLWC has been present?

Definitely both. Iran has had an AWFUL performance. Russia about where expected but the US has been on fire. 10 medals would unheard of and is a definite possibility now

James plan has been consistent in that he wants to enroll this fall and be a guy.

Now that the federal judge shot down athletes in the class of ‘22 wrestling a fifth year, james will be battling it out with Henckel and Cunningham for the start at 174.
