Don't know if this is the case here, but theft in a locker room could be one reason to definitely dismiss a player. That breaks the first two tenets of FTC - Family and Trust.

Forget FTC. It's pro sports. On field performance is all that matters. Forget that touchy feely stuff, graduation rates, none of it matters. Wins and loses. That's it. These guys are getting paid to perform on the field.

This is professional sports. Unless he is breaking some laws like assaulting someone, then he should still be on the team. Hell, even in the NFL that doesn't really matter anymore.

This is why folks can’t make reasonable criticisms of Greg without pitch forks coming out. Unfortunately, a whole faction of our fan base acts like he’s wrong even in situations like this - where he made a text book appropriate decision. You can’t keep breaking rules after you’ve been warned multiple times and every other player on the team is following those rules. If you don’t follow through with the consequence you’ll end up losing the entire locker room. Common sense.

Because it's private to the team. If you get fired by a company, is the company supposed to publicly list the reasons you were fired?

So no - I don’t have any inside info but common sense says it has to be something like that. Could be showing up late to practices. Blowing them off entirely. Skipping strength or film sessions. Any and all of these things are part of the rules. When you sign a contract - you agree to do these things and show up on time. Not doing them isn’t illegal, but that doesn’t mean a coach should allow his players to go to practice and train only when they feel like it.

Overheard a 1.0 player was having about getting dismissed from team, and he said, it takes a LOT to get dismissed. A real LOT. Love all the people chiming in with off base information.

Im not talking about self-destructive types like LT...I am talking about those who make Aaron Hernandez look like a choir boy. There were 1 or 2 on every team my son was on that should have pretty much been doing serious prison time.

And he even said- almost all of them played in the SEC and most of them grew up in Florida.
