Football Mount Airy at Starmount

It wasn't a pretty win but Starmount got it done. Mt Airy front gave Starmount a lot of problems. Starmount was lucky to win this one. I didn't think either team played particularly well with lots of penalties. Both have lots of room for improvement and will be much better in a few weeks.

I think they will be fine. They have a lot of room for improvement. They started out slow last year as well. Still too early to make any predictions. Mt Airy has a good team that will be much better here in a few weeks. They will be tough in their conference.

First game and the Rams get a win against a team that has been dominant in this area and had their number basically since 2013.

It wasn’t pretty but the Rams fought back after trailing 13-0 and 16-7 to earn a 20-16 win.

You know Tarboro is the favorite. Especially after that comeback win they pulled out Thursday.

Hard to tell if Starmount isn't as good as anticipated or if MA is just a little better than their fans let on. It's also the first game of the season, so both teams should get/play better in the coming weeks. Honestly, I think both of these teams win their conference. Starmount should be clear favorites and no one in MAs conference looked good this week.

Mount Airy came out fired up and Starmount looked like they forgot there was a football game to play.

Mount Airy did a great job and played keep away. They looked like a service academy. Majority of the time they played with no wideouts and their line was very impressive. 7 and 5 are really good running backs.

Starmount finally woke up and stopped getting blown off the ball. They also figured out that counter that was eating them alive in the first half. Offensively they are explosive in the passing game, but need some work in the run game. I don’t see many people being able to cover 11. He’s a touchdown waiting to happen. 0 is a monster. 1 is a good passer and surprisingly dangerous when the play breaks down. His juke/spin on the touchdown run was sportcenter worthy.

Both teams combined for a bagillion penalties which is normal in the first game.
