Good news.

BOOM! BROOKE ROLLINS: The globalist’s are losing the war on MEAT!

"For the first time since 2018, we're now seeing a turn where the cattle numbers are now moving back UP."

USDA's July 2026 Cattle Inventory report, which revealed that the total U.S. cattle and calves herd grew to 94.2 million head, marking the first mid-year year-over-year increase since 2018.

Beef replacement heifers increased by roughly 100,000 to 200,000 head, indicating that ranchers are starting to hold back females for breeding rather than sending them to market.

It’s all very nice that there’s more beef supply in the pipeline, but alpha gal may take care of that in the long term. Ordinarily I’d blame that on the Chinese, like most modern us plagues, but this one is borne mostly by the lone star tick.

Wait…you actually think Trump is going to fix a problem? That’s cute.
I doubt the problem will be fixed while Trump is in office. Supposedly (I'm not a cattle rancher, can only report on wht other have reported) it takes 2 years to bring a cattle to slaughter and drought has forced ranchers to cull their herds. So, no I don't think Trump will fix the problem..he didn't cause it and won't fix it.

Wait, suspending tariffs will make foreign goods cheaper here in the US? I have it in very good authority that the other countries pay those tariffs, not US consumers.
Its called increasing the supply to.lower prices doofus. The primary goal of tariffs is to protect American products. In this case the US supply is down so they are augmenting foreign imports to lower prices and thats why US cattle producers are not happy. Trump is putting the beef consumers first in this case. Class adjourned. Youre welcome.

Read this.

Beef prices aren't up becuase of tariffs you moron. They are up because:
1. 4 meatpackers have consolidated the entire industry and are currently under investigation for price fixing.
2. Cattle herds are at record lows because of leftist policy for the past 10 years intentionally trying to destroy the meat industry to prevent climate change.
3. We imported 40 million people in the past 4 years that are all subsudized by the government to buy beef from walmart.

This is all well known and the American left has been public about this for years. A temporary waver of tariffs on foreign beef to bring prices down during midterm elections is not proof that tariffs are bad or that the current situation is caused by tariffs.

Ground beef is expensive because the U.S. cattle herd is the smallest it has been in roughly 75 years.

Why is the herd so small?

The shortage developed during the Biden administration as years of drought forced ranchers to cull cows, while high feed and input costs made matters worse.

The cattle cycle takes years to reverse.

And no, cattle don’t magically appear because people are angry about grocery prices.

Cattle take 18–24 months just to reach slaughter weight. Rebuilding the breeding herd takes even longer.

So what did Trump do?

He announced a 90-day deal allowing up to 300,000 metric tons of ground beef into the U.S. with no out-of-quota tariffs and a commitment to sell it 25% BELOW current market prices.

The goal?

Give working families some relief at the grocery store NOW while American ranchers rebuild the herd.

A temporary increase in supply to help lower the price of one of the most expensive grocery staples without permanently undercutting U.S. cattle producers.

That’s called a practical solution.

But sure, keep complaining about literally everything.

God forbid anyone acknowledge a concrete step that could actually LOWER food prices.

A simple “thank you” would do.

Good grief.

so on one hand we complain that beef prices are too high..on other hand, we complain when a step is taken to reduce beef prices...makes sense
American beef producers are only doing this for one reason, and one reason only.

They want a subsidy payment from the USDA.
In an election year, decent chance they get it. Republican candidates in the Midwest and Texas will lobby the WH for this.

so here's a question about those subsidies....does it make sense for the federal government and/or state governments to subsidize an industry in the short term in order to keep those industries alive to get to better times?

Has it been done before??? absolutely!!! the last three administrations did it as well...

will it happen again in the future....I wouldn't bet against it

The reasons for the various Trump subsidies are the issue.

Just one example...in 2017, Trump broke off trade negotiations with China for no good reason. China, subsequently reneged on an previous agreement to purchase US grown soybeans in a trade war.
The USDA, under Trump's approval, gave Billions of $$$, B as in billions, of farm subsidies to try and solve a problem he created.

That's the problem.

Nice try, easy to blame Biden for everything becuase he isn't trump, but no one really buys this. We have been entering an extended drought for a while due to climate change. This is observable in multiple ways. But, an extended drought period that has been getting worse is why the herds are down. Everything else has happened post that fact.

What should he do? Get actual scientists back and listen to the experts and think long term. But he and his fan club can't do that so will keep trying to come up with quick easy fixes and blame everything on someone else. And not understand that the bandaid isn't fixing anything in the big picture.

well, IMO, trump has done some stupid things in both this and last administrations. And, importing foreign beef at 25% discount from current prices, might well turn out to be another one of those. But, to be fair, this is not a problem he created. It started during the Biden admin - and Biden wasn't at fault either...

So while beef farmers are upset, understandably, the move might be good for consumers of ground beef...and yes there likely will be additional subsidies for the industry.

I'm not sure what you'd want trump or any other potential president to do about high beef prices. There simply are not enough US bred cattle to slaughter. It's not Trump's fault and it wasn't biden's either. It will likely take a couple more years to get herds back to normal levels.

And, while you might be right, I'm not certain we can blame this drought on climate change. We've had droughts long before the era of global warming and/or climate change...some go back as far as the 1800's and everyone should have learned about the 1930's dust bowl.

Sometimes, things happen and there's nobody to blame.

You clowns need to talk to the Iowa crowd. Drought is the big issue. Herds are down due to drought. Prices are up due to… you guessed it, drought.

Seems to have fixed a lot of the illegal immigration problem that was beyond the mental capacity of Biden or Harris.
Did he though? I don’t think you understand what "fixed" means.....or anything about the imaginary "illegal problem".
