Pope has done everything he could do . Now let’s hope the SEC -NCAA don’t screw us
I'm concerned Sankey and NCAA may do just that. Citing Mitchell's Exhibit 10 contract with the nuggets over the summer, or possibly even the sec to sec transfer rule.

Gut feeling, he does come here but never gets to play. I think the SEC screws tge Hell out of us.
If he does play here, we are a Final Foul caliber team.

Zoom - Fland
Wilkins - Klavzar(DA)
Momcilovic - Haugh
Mitchell - Condon
Moreno - Chinyelu

Every bit as good a starting 5 as the Gators
Close but fland and the center give Florida slight edge

He's gonna win 63% of the games regardless of roster. But there will be 1000's of excuses.

Pope's teams at full strength or injured are prone to just quit. And they are never in condition, they don't play defense and they don't rebound. Alos players do not improve. So it is a good thing to get players that are already made and have been coached by a competent coach.

It's possible they could overcome Pope. But it hasn't happened in 11 seasons.

Lol almost 0% this team doesn't win 30 plus games.

Ive been as critical of Pope as anyone but this team on paper is one you cant screw up.

Remember Stokes shooting half court shots at Rupp, on IG Live?

Im 90% sure Mitchell is a Cat, but I have to see it announced by the big sports media guys first!

What is the logical timeframe here? No later than Monday?

I would actually like to think things will move super quick like Kohler’s commitment, so hopefully by end of weekend (just speaking from what I hope happens)

Official team practices start in literally a month. He doesn't have much time to decide. I think we know by the end of the weekend.

August 28th is UK's last day to officially add or drop student registration for the fall semester. So next Friday seems like the logical "deadline" but I expect we find out one way or the other much sooner.

Surely you don’t think anyone sees you as anything other than a Calipari fan?

So amidst all the good news you decide to wax negative? For comparisons sake, Jay Wright’s first 11 seasons, he also compiled a 63% won - loss record.

The only way the SEC or NCAA as a whole can stop Mitchell to Kentucky would be through the legal channels now that Judge Edwards made his decision. They need a court ruling. They can't stop him otherwise just because they don't like the idea of these kids coming back.

You could very credibly make an argument that FL has the edge over UK at every frontcourt position, but that backcourt is a whole other thing. Klavzar is a great 3pt. shooter, but he’s sixth-man material. And I’m not sure I would give Fland the edge over any PG in the SEC and certainly not Diallo.

That said, I think FL’s backcourt (especially if they can add Aberdean) might be just good enough for FL given that impressive frontcourt.

SEC to SEC...hmmm...Didn't Boogie Fland move from Arkansas to Florida?

But I agree - I'm fully prepared for Sankey and the NCAA to step in the way here. This is one piece that makes UK a formidable FF threat, and no way are they going to allow that to happen (this of course assume Pope can coach this much experience and talent to a FF...).

Nah I’d put Fland over Diallo

I'm thinking the end of the day today if that zoom call means anything. He's moved quickly with the portal, do not contact, removing Mizzou from his IG, and now the Zoom. They aren't going to mess around and wait for Sankey and / or the NCAA to immediately get in the way.

Man, it's yet to be seen if Pope will succeed here. Another 10+ loss, first weekend exit season will get him run out. But your "roster doesn't matter nothing matters he'll win 63%" thing is complete nonsense. His worst year is 40%. His best year is 75%. Throw out the first two years taking over at Utah State, his worst is 56% at BYU, while two years at BYU were 74 and 75%. His Utah State average was 58%, his BYU average was 68%. He might succeed, he might fail, but just pointing at his career average and saying "that's what he'll win every year" is pure silliness.

This is a good point. Waiting is a really bad idea. That’s probably a big part of why Kholer committed so fast.

NCAA has no power to do anything anymore
The NCAA can appeal the TRO, and if they are granted a Stay then all players involved in the Kentucky lawsuit are ineligible until the case is finally settled.

Now I don't expect that to happen given the way these smaller state cases have gone. But you never know.

Which players transferred between two SEC schools, were not in the portal by the SEC's April deadline, and were still able to play the immediate season?
Why would a sec player out of eligibility at the time enter the portal? That will be the argument that wins. I believe Jalen Washington just did it recently

Because numerous other players, including SEC players, entered the portal last spring in anticipation of legal action resulting from the 5-for-5 rule that EVERYONE knew was coming.

I'd pay good money to see you make that argument in front of a judge.
