A 17 year old kid, fresh out of high school, shows up to fall camp to compete against...no, not another fellow wide-eyed newbie from high school...and, no, not even a seasoned a college player. He shows up to compete against a 22-year old who was playing in an NFL game just weeks prior.

Jeez the over reaction on here.
Some guy (who wasn't even drafted) took a hand full of snaps in a NFL preseason game, and then got released since they couldn't cut it. But some on here make it sound like some of these players were grizzled season veterans, and will now wreck havoc to the whole infrastructure of team rosters.

Funny. But I do see this as wreaking havoc on rosters. Not this step in particular, but because it will lead to the next step and the one after, etc.

Just today a Federal Ruling reinstated the NCAA’s age-based eligibility and five-year limits immediately.

So it is back to a 5 year limit of eligibility, which is what the NCAA initially proposed earlier.

I saw that. And am amazed a ruling went the way of the NCAA for a change.

But I dont think its that hard to see a next step. Guys who left early for the pros getting to come back as long as they are within a certain time frame, etc.

We could have guys arguing that they didn't sign a "real" contract, like they did with the NBA practice squad, or d league.

To be honest, I never thought this current step of coming back would be an option, so I cant even begin to imagine what the next step is.
