You are in control of our NIL budget of $52 million...

If we spent the entire amount on football we’d still be in the bottom half of the SEC in spending. There are two sports that we’ve proven that we can compete in nationally, Baseball and WBB. I would be top 3 in spending in the SEC in both sports. MBB I personally don’t care about but I’d try to at least spend around the SEC average in order to be competitive. The rest would go to football because let’s be honest the difference between 25 million and 50 million is negligible when we’re playing against teams spending 150 million.
But football is really the only one that matters. Baseball for us a bit, but football is what really matters.

across baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, football - how do you allocate $50 million of those dollars. I'm assuming $2 million goes to the other sports.

Football gets $30 million
Men's Basketball gets $13 million
Baseball get's $6 million
Women's Basketball gets $1 million
Women's Volleyball, $25 million (must be hot)
Women's Soccer, $25 million (must be hot)
Split $2m to the loser sports.

Texas and A&M might spend more than that on Uber.

year 1 - $52 million to men’s basketball. Zero to the rest and win national title.

year 2 - $52 million to baseball. Zero to the rest. Win national title.

year 3 - $52 million to women’s basketball. Zero to rest. Win national title.

Year 4 - Nobody gets anything. Bank $52 million.

Year 5 - football gets $104 million. Wins national title.

What would you choose? My thoughts are that just a portion of the 52 million would allow us to be nationally competitive in WBB and Baseball but the entire 52 million isn’t going to make our football team competitive because there are so many teams out there spending so much more.
Willfully ignorant poor ole. $52M would be the most expensive roster in CFB this year.

Football must take the majority
Baseball isn’t a needle mover, no need to invest super high. You can do less with more in basketball. You could talk me into another million in basketball
WBB has to have some investment identity titke

Football - $5 Million
Men's BBall - $20 Million
Baseball - $10 Million
Women's Basketball - $10 Million
Softball - $5 Million

My goal is trying to win in the other 4 sports and convincing folks to massively up the NIL for football to prove to the fanbase we need to give.

Let's say I win one of the 4 sports and the other 3 I make at least the elite 8 / CWS in each. I'm hoping my budget in 2027 rises to $75 Million.

2027
Football - $55 Million
Baseball - $5 Million
Men's Basketball - $5 Million
Women's Basketball - $5 Million
Softball - $5 Million

That'd be my two year plan. Tank Football NIL in a bad schedule year and juice it in a good schedule year.

I’ll give it a shot.

Football $40 mil
Men’s basketball $4 mil
Women’s basketball $4 mil
Softball $2 mil (buy best pitcher you can for $1 mil)
Volleyball $1 mil
Baseball/Women’s Soccer $500,000 each

That’s where our priorities should be if we want to get the most positive publicity on MSU.

I'm a baseball guy and love having the best facilities in the country, but winning a natty in baseball is not going to increase giving, increase enrollment, and get the school much national publicity, other than from other college baseball fans. Being relevant in football does all of those things, which in-turn provides more money for everyone. Just my two cents.
You are so right. Baseball is flushing money down the toilet. It does NOTHING to promote MSU. Money diverted there is sinking this school.

Also, neglecting football in any way at all does even more harm. If we halfass football the whole world sees it that we are loserville USA and it hurts us so bad.

The fact of the matter is we could absolutely suck balls in baseball and NOBODY outside of Starkville would even care. We may as well invest in building a fling golf team as we are to invest in baseball. It does NOTHING for MSU to the outside world. Even when we are badass and play at Alabama for example… maybe a few dozen eyeballs even see it. Again, NOBODY cares. If we pick one sport to suck at… it should 100% be baseball.

Be the best damn baseball school money can buy. Get notoriety as the school who pays enough to outbid MLB for top players. Be the Duke of baseball. Screw football. Not because I don't want to be great in football but we will NEVER be more than the school that other SEC schools are thankful we are on their schedule even if we do have a decent year here and there. What if Lebby has a worse than expected season this year? He gone. What if he has a great year? He gone. You know it. I know it. Time to accept it and enjoy being permanently great at baseball.

Adopting this mindset saves a lot of heartache
