Finally…the quiet part out loud…so many on the board feign confusion as to why parents are willing to drive by the public school and go pay tuition down the street
Please stop! This is my biggest issue with private school fans, they think everyone else has wool pulled over their eyes.

So football players transferring more and more is due to the curriculum? There were no good schools from Milwaukee to Naz for their new QB to go to for an education? Same question for the QB transferring from ESL to Franny? Is the curriculum that much better at St. Francis than it is at SHG?

Parents have the right to send their kids wherever they want, and I have no issue with that, but when athletes start transferring don't try to pass it off as educational purposes.

It could be. How do you know?

I don't think football players and basketball players are choosing to go to private schools to learn that humans walked around with dinosaurs. Its a terrible argument, let's just be honest about what it is here.

What about athletes transferring from one private to another? Is the education better at Larry than it is at BR?

If it were about education then why aren't Payton, Jones, and Lane Tech state powers? They all just ranked in the top 100 high schools in the country.

It might be because of what those school are teaching kids.

Its about the parents and kids being in charge to select the best school for themselves. It has many factors involved and each family's kid is different.

The public schools used to focus on reading, writing and arithmetic and all was great. Now they have changed and focused on some other things I will not even discuss but some parents are not interested with.

I think in the end, you just have to trust the parents decision for their kids whether public or private or what private school.

Try to keep up, I already said I have zero problem with parents sending their kids to whichever school they choose, for whatever reasons they see fit, but when athletes start transferring don't try to pass it off as for educational reasons. If that's the case then why didn't the parents choose the school little Timmy transferred to in the first place?

How do you explain the exponentially more parents that send their kids to public schools?

The argument is silly. Really consider what you're saying.

If the cost of public and private schools were the same (meaning paying your property taxes virtually let you go to the school of your choice for free), public or private, the numbers would be much different.

Also does this really need to be explained to you? It's basic economics.

Nope. Parents dont like what private schools are teaching. Except for football and basketball players apparently.

I have two kids in public HS. Stop with the “they teach other things now” crap. I got kids in AP biology, honors English, honors math…such a worn out phrase. Cause we know what you really want to say…
this is what catholic school parents are avoiding. That’s awesome your kids are the best. Congrats. Want a trophy?

With many private schools really pushing the sports recruiting the much more interesting topic is the growing internal divide of parents/ donors who are committed to the schools mission and the others that are only there for sports and could careless about the school. It’s starting pop up more and more, I truly wonder if this is sustainable for more then a couple years.
