You mean the laptop, the hard drive of which was in the custody of Rudy Giuliani and Steve Bannon for weeks before a copy of said hard drive was delivered to the New York Post, whose publisher is well known Trump sycophant David Pecker? THAT hard drive? Why would those righteous and morally upstanding American citizens have any incentive or inclination to tamper with said hard drive?

You can't be that dumb or credulous. Tell us you're joking.
The FBI had the laptop and knew it was not a Russian plant. Biden knew it was not a Russian plant. All who signed the letter knew it was not a Russian plant. Only naive libs like you and effer believed it was.

Just to clarify, are you suggesting Biden should have lost because some ex-intelligence agents said it had the "classic earmarks of a Russian misinformation campaign?" Since they didn't say it was, they didn't lie but even if they had lied, why should that have been a problem for Joe's election chances?

Remember, this got started by me reminding you that you knew about ALL of Trump's treason and criminality yet you voted for him anyway and somehow this laptop story is supposed to be the equivalent in your mind?

What's the bottom line? Make it make sense.

But that is not what Biden said. His lie in the debate was, "There are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what he's accusing me of is a Russian plant."

That was the "big lie." You have struggled with this, but I am hopeful now that you understand.

Ok, give me the bottom line - he should have lost because he lied about something that didn't implicate him in any crimes?

Now do Trump since lying seems to be your red line here.

Kind of guy boohooing that senile Biden lied (most likely misspoke, but sure I’ll go with lie), but doesn’t care about the lie that Trump’s been spreading for 6 years about winning the 2020 election.

like I said earlier - he’s a mouthbreathing rube

I didn't say he should have lost, but I will say he probably would have lost if more people realized the laptop was not a Russian plant.

Obviously Biden and the letter-signing hacks thought the same thing or they would have not written the fake letter that set the stage for his lie in the debate.

And the mainstream media did their part by covering it up.

No matter how hard I try to be open-minded about their version of events, I will never understand them.

What caused millions of ordinary citizens, many who probably never cared about politics before, to sell their souls to protect this man? Why does he deserve it, I don't get it.

Dude, the story popped up three weeks before the election in 2020 and looked like an obvious attempt to tank Biden's chances who had been leading in the polls by wide margins. It was suspicious as hell, especially since two renowned cretins like Rudy Giuliani and Steve Bannon were the ones pumping the story. Joe had not committed any crimes and they were actively trying to sabotage him at the last minute out of desperation.

Two years of investigations by Comer Pyle and Gym Jordan also came up empty-handed which led more credence to it being a nothingburger.

The amount of mental gymnastics required to turn this into a a doomsday indictment of Joe's character is frankly stupefying to anyone with a scintilla of brain matter.

how do you know the offiicals knew it was not russian intelligence? has that been established?

i think it's entirely possible that they genuinely thought it was.

in hindsight...you can say they reacted too quickly...you can say they were ulitmately proved wrong.

but how can you say that they knew they were lying when they said the laptop appeared to be russian intelligence misinformation.
do you not see that in effect, they knew nothing about the laptop....nothing...yet they knew enough to sign a letter saying it had the making of Russian intelligence..in spite of the fact they knew nothing. The couldn't lie, they had zero idea of the truth....

Face it, signing the letter was an effort to support biden. It happens all the time in DC.

yes. it was a bunch of people with no current, active role in the federal govt saying they thought this was Russian disinfitmation.

private citizens - even former high level officials - are allowed to express thoughts and opinions in support of a political candidate.

You still haven't explained why Blinken of the Biden campaign felt compelled to contact Morrell, who then wrote the letter and got 50 other intel hacks to sign. Why did they all think it was necessary to spin that lie?

You should have contacted them and told them that, according to you and your greater understanding of the risk to Biden, it was completely unnecessary and a waste of time.

So if AOC, Saul Alinsky (assuming he was still alive), Hillary Clinton, and George Soros had sole possession, for six weeks, of a laptop they claimed was the property of Donald Trump, Jr., and it had all manner of salacious stuff on it, would you accept it as being totally legit? LOL, we both know the answer to that question.

here's the opposite side that you're overlooking....whether or not the laptop was relative to Joe Biden was irrelevant...republicans tied it to Biden and apparently just that issue was enough for Biden supporters to generate the letter. I would submit to you that of the 51 people who signed the letter most had no access to the laptop to have any idea if it has the marking of Russian disinformation.

The republicans pushed the laptop because they thought it damaged biden and the 51 signed the letter because they thought it would counter the prospective damage being pushed by republicans.

Democrats pushed trump's "treason and criminality" because they were supporting Biden and would use anything to damage Trump.

If you're trying to tie accuracy, honesty, integrity to any of this, it's a lost cause. It's politics pure and simple.

yea, but here's a comparison to what dpic is asking...should trump have lost in 2024 because he claimed that the 2020 election was stolen??

I don't think Biden lost his candidacy for 2024 because of the laptop...he lost because of that one night on the debate stage. I think Trump won, not because of his "greatness", he wond because his opponent was Kamala Harris

Keep spinning those wheels, bud. Your selective outrage is adorable. Then again if I were dumb enough to have voted for Trump (likely multiple times) I’d be doing everything in my power to deflect from the embarrassing truth of being a mouth breathing rube, as well.
Votes for Kamala. lol

They wouldn't accept it if Trump released it himself. All he would have to tell them was he got hacked and "all manner of salacious stuff" was put on his laptop and:

"Anyway, who cares what's on it? I cheated on all of my three wives, have 34 felony convictions, I'm an adjudicated sexual abuser. Hell, I bragged that I could grab women by the pvssy and walk in on naked teen girls and they still kiss my bloated farty ***. I directed an attempted coup of the United States government, and they're still lined up with their lips puckered. I've sent Gestapo thugs into neighborhoods where they've murdered American citizens... smooch, smooch, smooch. And you f'n libs thought I was full of sh*t when I said I could murder someone in the middle of Fifth Ave and not lose any support!!"

I'm not even sure what you're arguing. The laptop had nothing on it damaging to Joe but Republicans wanted the voters to "believe" it did. I'm sure Joe himself didn't know what was on his son's personal computer. so with three weeks to go before the election, of course they wanted to downplay the significance of it. It was a obvious attempt to sabotage his chances by innuendo.

It's too bad this didn't play out in a highly publicized trial. Now, everyone with an opinion will be able to make a settlement support their prior beliefs about a pivotal moment of American history.
