Finally back in action. Records after the team is last years results.
Reed-Custer (4-5) @ Harvard (0-9) - RC is not a total bottom feeder anymore, however still not sold on them being a GOOD team. If it was the old playoff system I would be hard pressed to believe they make it. Harvard has been putrid the last decade or so. No challenge here for the Comets in a week one tune up game. RC 42- Harvard 14
Coal City (9-3) @ Pontiac (2-7) - CC gonna be good this year. Pontiac not so much. Clocked. Coalers 49 - Pontiac 7
Canton (1-8) @ Herscher (6-4) - Herscher coming off a playoff qualifying season last year, but I'm as I have openly discussed in the past, their quality of wins matter. While they are improved, last year they did not have quality wins. Either way I still think they are forming into a somewhat competent team and have improved each year under this coach. Canton is not good and hasn't been in a minute. Herscher 35 Canton 24
Aurora Central Catholic (8-3) @ Lisle (DNP) - Know nothing about what Lisle has to offer. Can't imagine it will be good. Don't know much about ACC either. Sure it's better than Lisle. ACC 35 - Lisle 7
Johnsburg (7-3) - @ Manteno - (6-4) - Johnsburg is usally pretty solid and I am not sure how Manteno will be, but I don't think they come out with a win here. Should be a tight one IMO. Johnsburg 42 Manteno 35
Peotone (3-6) @ Blue Island (Eisenhower) (4-5) - Peotone shocked me last year. Bad year or new trend? Either way I don't think they will have enough to hang with a school of Eisenhower's size. Eisenhower 28 Peotone 14
Streator (1-8) @ Marengo (7-3) - Marengo solid, Streator gonna Streator. Marengo with a clock. Marengo 55 Streator 12
Bishop Mac (10-1 @ Wilmington (13-1) - GOTW! This should be the only test for the Cats until week 9. I know Reents will have them ready to go and I know they want to prove that they are still the Champs until they get knocked off. Mac seems to be on the upward swing after last year and they have their stud receiver which always seems to be Wilmo's weak spot. I don't think he will be enough to take this one and I think ultimately the cats grind it out on offense like they do. Cats 24 - Mac 21
