So, no one is concerned that we are about to elect a senator whose position on foreign policy is “I don’t know much about it?”

Most people who knew she was unqualified already spoke when she was put in the seat months ago. Now this is just the candidates sorting themselves out. If the voters are that clueless to elect her, you kind of get the representation you deserve.

DEI prevented a lot of nepotism BTW. Did it go too far? Sure, but it 100% prevented this type silliness.

This is MAGA we are talking about. People are finally numb to the insanity and just not that surprised. MAGA wants rubber stamps for Trump, not informed independent thinkers.

She is the perfect republican candidate.

The choice between these two candidates is like picking which way to commit suicide.

Two MAGA that won't be voting for the betterment of their constituents.

Holy crap, Graham was bad. Almost..
almost felt bad for her.

This has nothing to do with DEI. The voters have every chance to speak. The Governor had.to.select.someone.

The question is why are the voters apathetic to the replacement?

because the thoughts and opinions of the person being elected do not matter

the only thing that matters - and the only thing that makes them "qualified" - is whether they will agree with everything trump says

so as long as darline votes according to trump's whims, it doesn't matter whether she knows any policy...

You’d think there’d be some introspection when the sister of a dead senator with no political background is the front runner to be the nominee because the president endorsed her.

and they call dems cultists…

The people of SC have a chance to say otherwise. I guess they like Trumps policies so much, they are ok with that.

I’m not. I want a fresh face, I don’t like nepotism and feel she is unqualified and I’m probably one of the biggest MAGA on the board.

The whole thing is interesting to me. We are about to be stuck with her for 6 years and Trumps only around for 2.5 more.

Your lust for Trump is kinda weird btw

Not a resident of SC, but how in hell is Lady Graham ahead in polling?????
I think the full impact of that blunder of hers the other night has yet to fully sink in with the South Carolina electorate. All fifty (er, five) million of them.

I've only eaten at Applebees once, but I have to admit that my first reaction to her admitting that she knew nothing about Taiwan or the South China Sea was to think "Well, at least she's being honest and not giving some bullshiat answer. Isn't it a bit refreshing to hear a political candidate admit that they don't know all about something?"

But after some reflection (about sixty seconds' worth), it occurred to me that her response was pretty frickin' bad. First, she said that she knew next to nothing about national security. Second, she compounded things by noting her brother's "33 years of service" in the Air Force. Is it Darline Graham or her late brother who is running for a full term in the Senate here? WGABFF about Lindsey Graham's years of service?! He's not the candidate, she is. She then went on to talk about her dad's military service. And she ended with "I support the military." Doesn't she support Cheeto's extended war in iran? How is that supporting the military?

If she is gonna be a candidate for the U.S. Senate, she should at least know a little bit about history, geography, and international news. How hard would it have been to note that Taiwan is under constant threat from Mainland China? Or that China is trying to lay claim to pretty much the entire South China Sea? Even trucking in soil to build up islands on which to plant the Chinese flag, so as to bolster their claim to subsurface minerals, fishing rights, etc. How hard would it be to note that the U.S. Navy has a constant stream of ships plying the waters of the South China Sea in order to support the principle of freedom of navigation on that body of water? She needs to get a cram course on geopolitics from some right winger who is inclined (read: paid) to coach her up on things she needs to know.

It may already be too late for her. Running to Sean Hannity and telling the Faux News viewing public "I'm not a politician. I'm ignorant. Boys trying to use girls' bathrooms is the bigger issue!" won't work.

Donald Trump endorsed Graham, so its over. Maga has no brain
and yet we just had a post yesterday about how the Senate was staying in pro forma session to prevent trump from recess appointments...seems as if someone has a brain...just saying

Are you saying Maga has a brain? Trump and his supporters are Maga. They want Graham. Who is an idiot with no experience with anything related to being a senator.
