As we build towards National Championship contention, depth is a huge factor. It's crazy to think about the talent we have not only been able to recruit but also retain in the past three years. Where would this possible second team roster finish in March? Please weigh-in and correct me where I'm off. I think one of the Raney Brothers will start for us, correct?

125: Zinkin
133: Ramirez/Raney
141: Raney/Hughes
149: Raney/Jamison
157: Swiderski
165: Routledge
174: Facundo
184: Ryder
197: White
HWT: Doucet/Ross

Is this a Top-10 team?!? Every single weight but one would be manned by either a Top-10 recruit or All-American.

Yes, it would be the #2 team in the country!

Don't think Ryder would be on that team and how do we know Swiderski isn't our #1 at 165?

So is Ryder wrestling this season then? I thought he was taking a medical redshirt?
Yeah, I don't know either. Every Stilly Boy video I see it looks like he is fine but that doesn't mean he is okay to wrestle. It is confirmed he had shoulder surgery, correct? Since we have Berge it makes sense for him to take the year off and heal completely.

Yes, I should have put Lockett/Swiderski and Ryder/Berge. Who knows how it will play out. Basically whoever the non-starter is at every weight is still going to be very good.
What makes you think Ryder is wrestling this season?

I have no clue if he is or not, it's all speculative. I have no idea. In my post above I said my only inclination is from the Stilly Boys videos where he looks okay but conceded that looking okay and being able to wrestle are very far apart.

The previously attached roster still listed Facundo at 174. Not 165/174 like you might expect based on others that are looking at two weights (Ronnie, Sergio, Raneys White, etc). May not mean anything.
You're right and that was the one spot that really surprised me. Unless he has put on significant muscle I don't think Facundo can place high at 174.

It was a very tough surgery and I’m not sure the plan was for him to compete this year.

I don’t know if the new rules impacted that or if he opted into the old rules?

I do know he’s tough enough to do whatever, that’s been proven!

I would be surprised if Lockett does not hold unto the 165 spot. I would think Ross will be the HWT.
I will NOT be surprised if Locket gets beat out. I do think he's the favorite to be the starter at the end of the year. But if Swiderski beats him out or if Facundo drops down and does something I will not be stunned.

Not for this upcoming season he can't. July 31 was the last day to file medicals that occurred in previous years .

If he misses this season he files for a Medical Redshirt in the summer after the season has concluded. You apply for the waiver after the fact. Your bolded part is incorrect.

That changed with 5 in 5. They were given until July 31 to apply for a medical for the 2025-26 season or earlier. There are no longer any medical waivers for any season starting with 2026-27.
