Gas is $4.20 in central Iowa. I thought Trump recently said prices were coming down fast and gas is $2 in most places.
piggy, you do yourself a dis service with bringing up the past. People don't care about gas prices during Biden....they care about now. And you really can't argue that Trump and the Iranian Excursion are the reason why prices are higher now. The excursion might have long term benefits for the US, but when filling up the gas tank Americans only care about what it costs them at that moment.
I don’t think so Ned. Accountability and the truth are important. Gas averaged higher under Biden, despite the Iran war. Also fact is that Dems made a large release from the SPR just before the election. The price on the last day of a term is hardly reflective of the whole term.
I’ve never argued the Iran war isn’t causing high gas prices. Not sure what you are referring to.
Despite the Iran war, prices are averaging lower than they were under the Democratic admin.
National average is $4.06. And that is 100% on Trump.

An 11 cent difference in average is not the flex you think it is, especially when you consider gas prices under Biden were driven by the war in Ukraine and continuing supply chain challenges, while Trump's are self-inflicted. FAIL

National average right now is $4.08.
Here in Colorado we are close to $4.50 a gallon today. Not to far away from the high when Biden was in office.

We definitely pay more for gas out here in California, Piggy. Some of that is due to gas taxes, the proceeds of which are used to repair and maintain a very extensive and heavily used network of highways and roads in California. The formulation of California gasoline, which is designed to reduce emissions that cause significant air pollution, also contributes to the cost. I have lived in California since I was age 10, spending my youth in the L.A. basin, and I can tell you that the air there is cleaner than it was when I was a high schooler. I recall having to do conditioning for basketball season in September and October, when the air pollution was so heavy that the sky looked like it does after a big wildfire. Southern California skies are, absent a wildfire, much clearer now. I'm not sure how you put a price on that.
If you are getting gas for $1.25 per gallon, you are doing better than pretty much 99.9% of the U.S. population. A whole lot better. Like more than $2.00 per gallon better. Good for you, champ.

When the Biden administration began its historic emergency releases in 2022 to counter rising gas prices from the Russia-Ukraine war, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) fell from about 600 million barrels down to roughly 375 million barrels by the end of 2022. Including congressionally mandated sales and previous actions, inventories eventually bottomed out near 347 million barrels in mid-2023 before the administration began purchasing oil to refill it.
It's called electric, which i have to say your woderful state introduced me to. As a tourist out there I was walking one day and damned if i didn't see 8 teslas in a row drive by. I didn't think it was a show or any kind of coordinated thing, it was just randomly 8 teslas in a row in heavy traffic. Anyway, I gave one a try and as they say the rest is histroy. $.14 per KwH, which you Californians can only dream about, equates to approximately $1.25 per gallon.
I will say your roads are nice in Cali. Now just clear them of all the homeless, and needles, and human feces and you might have a tolerable place to live.
We have clean air over here, even with combustion cars.
Well, notwithstanding my earlier comment, I think you are smart to have an EV, particularly if you can purchase electricity at the price you noted. I have upgraded my electrical panel, and will be installing solar panels in the next few years (when I replace my roof). The price of both gasoline and electricity just keeps going up, so solar panels seem like a no-brainer notwithstanding the up front cost.
And before he left office Trump negotiated with Sauds to cut production....you got manipulated
