Loved their stuff. Oddly enough, Frank Beard was the guy who didn’t have a signature beard.
The beard thing is interesting because it was completely organic. When they "broke-up" or went on hiatus, Billy Gibbons went around the middle est Europe and Asia, Dusty Hill went to work as a baggage handler at an airport and Frank Beard kicked a bad drug habit. When they got back together both Dusty and Billy had big, long beards and kept them as their gimmick.

Love them very much. I’m very sad.
my fav:

Bummer, they were solid for sure.

Yeah, songs like this were great. The popular MTV stuff was hard to enjoy. We saw them once in Reading at the Sovereign Center , had to be in the mid 2000s. Really slick and corny. Fun.

Saw them a couple of more times, the first being at the Allentown Fairgrounds in the Summer of73 With EWF and Uriah Heap. Really not famous yet and really solid blues rock Texas mashup energy.

Those guys could go through a carton of cigarettes in one show.

Down to one member. A lot of bands from their early days (contemporaries) have lost a lot of members. Skynyrd has no original members left.

Loved the old stuff like deguello, cheap sunglasses, tube snake boogie and la grange. I got to see them once. I think it was on city island. Before my mom went into a nursing home I would take her on a drive to smitties soft pretzels and then Reeser's ice cream. Twice la grange came on the radio as we passed the grange hall near lewisberry.

Nice! I saw them twice at Stabler on El Loco and Eliminator tours. Their laser shows were legendary!

Got to see them at Red Rocks but then a severe rain storm came. I thought for sure Billy Gibbons would get electrocuted but then he pulled the plug and ran for cover. The concert was then cancelled that night since the storm never let up. The concert was re-scheduled weeks later at Fiddlers Green and it was great, however Fiddlers is no replacement for 7th row seats at Red Rocks. RIP Frank Beard your music lives on !

I saw Brit Floyd at Red Rocks in early June, and I agree that there is no substitute for Red Rocks. Anyone who enjoys live music should make an effort to go there.

That Allentown Fair bill is a quintessential summer of 1973 lineup! Fun stuff.

It was a summer afternoon, the race track at the fairgrounds, it was hot and a large number of kids jumped the fence at the top of the stretch. They were pouring over the fence and racing on to the infield. Mayhem.

Rock and Roll.

Many years ago a local bar is St Augustine called Matanza (massacre i think) A local group a spitting image of ZZtop were incredible . Little guy, huge beard and really good. Ahhhh the old days.
If you are thinking of the Matanzas Inn it was destroyed in Hurricane Matthew and torn down after that.
