Bandys at St. Stephen’s: Don’t know anything about St. Stephen’s but I did get to see Bandys scrimmage here Friday night. It was obvious they have some offensive weapons. They have to be careful because of Stephen’s numbers, which is simply an assumption on my part. Trojans by 10.
Bunker Hill at Draughn: The Bears win this one by 12.
East Lincoln at South Iredell: May be a good game. One of the first things I saw on this thread was a suggestion that East Lincoln might be down. They didn’t look to be down last Friday night. They’re big they’re fast, they’ve got confidence, and they have good looking uniforms. Mustangs by 10.
Foard at West Wilkes: this might be a good game, but I see the Plateau Tigers edging out the Millers Creek Hawks by 7.
South Point at Hickory: This could be a good game. The tornadoes will be looking to get even from last year. Frankly speaking, if I were to go into a coma, and wake up in mid December and someone told me Hickory had won the state in the 5A classification, I shouldn’t be surprised. Hickory by 10.
Alexander Central at Newton-Conover: Believing the Red Devils are on the upswing, I say they take this one by 12.
North Lincoln at West Lincoln: Saw both teams scrimmage last Friday. West Lincoln should learn how to pass. Teams just stack the line on them. They have an assistant coach who could certainly teach them how it is done. North on the other hand can throw, and will. Got to see their quarterback and he is not bad at all…Knights by 7.
West Iredell at East Burke: I don’t know of anything that would really put the fire into the Cavaliers and their fans more than pulling off a win against the Warriors. Unfortunately. West Iredell will be a conference contender for the western foothills 4A title, along with three other hungry, mean hound dogs. This conference gets tougher every year. Warriors by 15.
Lincolnton at Maiden: Did not see any matchup designated as Flyrod’s game of the week. So at the risk of appearing immodest, I’m going to designate this one unless he (Flyrod) changes it to another game. The reason I do this is simply because I think it’s good pairing, and both teams will put it all on the line.
The wolves have a history of starting slow and over the last decade losing to the Blue Devils. Last time we beat them was 2024 and that was by a single point. Hopefully, things gets turned around this year, but I don’t know. I am, however, picking Lincolnton to win this one. I always pick the wolves and normally against Maiden, I’ll pick them by six, but this year I’m going out on a limb and say it won’t be so close. Wolves by 7.

Cramer at Forestview: Cramer has morphed into a formidable football program. I wonder if the guys over in Belmont have noticed how angry the sky looks just west of town. My apologies for the digression. Back to Forestview, not much to be said here, Cramer by 21.
Hibriten at East Wilkes: Noticed that the Cardinals were ranked fourth in the MaxPreps 2A polls. Unfortunately, for them the best they can hope for is to get the experience of playing against a first tier contender from a higher classification. This could help them with their schedule, which includes tough matches against Mount Airy and Starmount. Panthers by 20.
