Presumably the judge in KY grants the preliminary injunction this week as well but we still might be far from closure it seems like

It’s so crazy, I’d still take him and try and get a rush judgement. No reason this class shouldn’t be eligible under the new framework provided they only played 4 years.
I so, so miss the days when it was just college basketball and everyone had common sense. Once you graduated or played four years (or an extra year because of redshirting), you were DONE.
They got a stay until the appeal is through. So no one is eligible through the ohio suit right now. Colorado still gives everyone eligibility that entered the portal though
My interest in college athletics is at an all-time low, at least at this level.
Unless the rule says they used their eligibility. That would be the reason.
COVID flipped everything on its head and once you give the farm it’s hard to get it back. The ncaa should just do the right thing and let the new rule begin right now. The courts will rule for the five for five and say that has to be implemented right away at the end of the day. It just makes a mess for schools that are trying to finish off their team for the season get their team ready get their roster set.
Greed and incompetency killed college hoops. Apparently the great coaches who left the game in recent years were in on a lot more details than what we're just now seeing. I have zero ***** to give about these mercenaries who knew they were destroying the college game, but wanted their paycheck.
It's a stupid rule to hold the outgoing seniors hostage if the NCAA agreed to change if for next year's seniors. Even Pope said so.
I suppose it’s too much to hope the member schools get smart enough to tell the NCAA stop using our money this way.
Not sure why they haven’t just taken him in the first place, there’s plenty of other schools that are doing it and will deal with downstream consequences later (if ever)
On some levels I feel you, but on the other hand this is maybe the most interesting summer of college basketball developments ever. Usually we're talking about **** like "Remember Dungeons and Dragons" and other bangers like that. I'm not a fan of the changes that have been happening but they sure haven't been boring.

No one was held hostage. Calm down Mr Font. There was a rule. The seniors played under that rule. Their eligibility expired. Afterwards, a new rule was written. The new rule started after the seniors’ eligibility expired.
You can have an opinion about how it should have been instituted but it was not unfair.
Were the athletes that entered the portal when there was no reason to enter the portal playing by the rules at the time or gaming the system? Should they have even been allowed to enter the portal?
people that have “lost interest in college sports” are the minority. It is just as popular as ever and the level of play is about as good as it’s ever been with older players.
Nothing about the college game is destroyed and college hoops have not been killed, sir. It’s as popular as it’s ever been and the quality of play is the best it’s been in decades.
Guys let’s just say it like this. If even one 5th year senior gets to play they should all play. NCAA would be crude and making things personal if they make it all a case by case luck of the draw type thing
Careful, we are calling it "grad senior year" to avoid legal action by Jayden Daniels for using his number in describing the total number of years a player has/can play.
Colorado gives them eligibility whether they entered the portal or not. They can’t transfer based on the Colorado rule but they can return to their last school.
Change for the sake of change is never a good thing. Integrity of the college sports landscape should be a thing.
It wasn’t just for the sake of change. This was money doing what money does. That’s not a defense of it at all but saying that this was change for changes sake is inaccurate.
Bottom line is judges and courts started this mess so either clean it up or just put all the power back in ncaa hands. Can’t be both ways.
I'd say "California points the way." That case is much more on point than the Ohio case, and creates a ready template for the Kentucky judge to attach to, with the same issues to rule on.
The idea that fifth year players of a certain age would be eligible in 2021. 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026, 2028, and on to the end of time -- but NOT for 2027 is nothing but a petulant NCAA trying to show it still has some fading relevance -/ enough at least to ruin some small subset of kids' opportunities.
