I never once said people should not be proud of their kids making the cheerleading squads. Those kids work hard and should be proud of what they accomplish.
What I did say, and this is based on almost all the families of cheerleaders I have known, is that they have no problem sending their daughters out in skimpy, midriff baring, barely covered up more than a bikini or sports bra outfits yet most will turn around and argue that kids are being overly sexualized in schools.

I can tell you the two gay men who adopted a girl who is in my son's grade are two of the best parent's you've ever met. They both have jobs but come to every school event, together to support her. Sports, parent room helpers, book fairs, field trips. Literally together for all events, not just one parent. I heard they eventually got divorced while she was in high school. I still seem them co-parenting without any issues. Both still attend everything.
