Our new members keep asking me this and I've answered it repeatedly. My number one interest for participating on this board is to disprove lies and dispel misinformation because if no one challenges them, other people will believe it too. So it's not about a particular troll that I'm debating, it's about others, including lurkers, who might be reading the board and not know it's a lie if no one addresses it.
I've told this anecdote often but I know this is helpful to some because I've gotten DM's over the years from handles I've never heard of thanking me for shedding some light for them and explaining things they didn't know.
And since posters like you and others that bark at me don't tell obvious lies, you're not the target of my number one reason for participating on the board, but I'd hope you'd understand the reason why I feel it's important.
Our football coach, Dabo, often uses the phrase "bloom where you're planted" and though there may not be enough people on this forum to make a huge impact, this is where I am anyway because I'm a member of the paid sports forum, so why not do it here? If it only helps a handful of people, that's better than none.

Ossoff: When you step back and consider it, the situation is absurd. Tech titans dig bunkers and warn us the new intelligence they’re training could lead to mass joblessness or human extinction, while our Congress debates ballrooms and youth sports.
We’ve amassed enough firepower to end the world 1,000 times over, but we can’t summon the will to guarantee health care and pre-K. I say all this to say, but it’s the crushing weakness of our politics, against the unmet needs of our people and the massive stakes of our times, that’s shaking our faith in the future.
