Had to give @Legend12 the "Raspberries".And 3 DPOTY awards in the last 4 years
Nothing special.
She’s the clear number two in the race this year, and many haven’t mentioned her in the top 5. It’s embarrassingly comical.
Why else come to a sports message board other than to discuss conspiracy theories and perceived victim-hood? No one wants to talk about sports...Can we quit with the conspiracy theory victimhood of Caitlin Clark? There is no WNBA shadow entity conspiring against her.
She's the WNBA ROTY given to her by the WNBA. She's a 3x WNBA All Star given to her by the WNBA. She was 1st team All WNBA in 2024 given to her by the WNBA.
Even in hypotheticals where we pretend she has insane stats people act like victims.
I agree, pardner.I think you should be able to critique any player but that's not how it works around these parts.
Speaking of Lexi, she's had only 13 shot attempts over the last 5 games. 2-4 from 3, 15 rebs, and averages 15 min/game. She's in an entirely defensive role. She's the last option to score. She can defend, rebound, and set screens. That's all White needs from her.
I'd disagree. Her minutes have been cut because she's just ineffective. The Big 3 took 58 of the 81 shots yesterday ( as it should be) but Timpson going 9-13 basically won the game. You know what you're going to get pretty much night in and night out with the Big 3. 64 points yesterday. Pretty much the norm but you've got to get a 4th scorer of some significance. I don't expect 20 out of Timpson obviously but 10-8 at least would be nice. Sophie played 32 minutes and only scored 3 pts. She did grab 7 boards though. Lexi just isn't producing much of anything out there.Speaking of Lexi, she's had only 13 shot attempts over the last 5 games. 2-4 from 3, 15 rebs, and averages 15 min/game. "In essence, a player's ability to contribute to stopping the opponent's scoring directly impacts their +/- rating, making defense an integral part of this statistic."How in hell was she a "+2" in final box score stats?
Understood, but she was 0-3 from the field with 2 rebounds in only 10 minutes of play."In essence, a player's ability to contribute to stopping the opponent's scoring directly impacts their +/- rating, making defense an integral part of this statistic."
This is my point. When Hull is on the floor, she is the last scoring option compared to the others, especially when Timpson has a game like she had last night. Think defense, ok?You know what you're going to get pretty much night in and night out with the Big 3. 64 points yesterday. Pretty much the norm but you've got to get a 4th scorer of some significance.
She impacts the game defensively. That helps the team, even when she doesn't score. Do I want more offensive production from her? Sure, I'll take that any day. But, if she plays solid defense, then that helps keep the ship afloat. Don't you think?Understood, but she was 0-3 from the field with 2 rebounds in only 10 minutes of play.
That's hardly an "integral" part of the game.
Then why is White keeping her in the starting lineup?Lexie game is hustle and she's not putting forth the same effort she has the last two years. She needs to step it up down the stretch.
She played 10 minutes. Her backup played 32. And she's not a defensive stopper by any means. Then why is White keeping her in the starting lineup?
Heavens to Murgatroyd! Who's a better defender than Hull on the bench? She played 10 minutes. Her backup played 32. And she's not a defensive stopper by any means.
Probably having Cunningham come off the bench to make sure we have a scorer coming inThen why is White keeping her in the starting lineup?
Her defense isn't as good as the last couple years imoShe played 10 minutes. Her backup played 32. And she's not a defensive stopper by any means.
Certainly could be. It's kind of like Peyton Manning used to be. Just let her and him call the offense and get out of the way.Or, maybe she's in the driver's seat now that White gave her the keys.![]()
I've not been keeping up with everything in this thread. Who do you think is the clear #2. Miles?CC is currently the clear #3.
CC is currently the clear #3.

Which is what Christie Sides finally realized.Certainly could be. It's kind of like Peyton Manning used to be. Just let her and him call the offense and get out of the way.

when the starters get a rest.
Anyone but Clark, according to him, LOL.I've not been keeping up with everything in this thread. Who do you think is the clear #2. Miles?
She’s never been a true defensive stopper. She has always been a high effort player which helped her out on defense and rebounding. Plus she had a hot streak shooting the 3ball for a while. But her shooting regressed and her effort isn’t quite what it was. That double-whammy is going to cost her a WNBA career. Her defense isn't as good as the last couple years imo
I agree with everything you outlined, but her WNBA career is not in jeopardy. She’s never been a true defensive stopper. I'd agree. I think her being in and out of the lineup on minutes restrictions really kept her from getting in a groove, coming back from the back issue. She just looks totally in control right now. The beginning of the season whether it was rust from being out most of last season, then the back injury and lack of minutes she did not look like the same player. And they were really struggling as a team. And also her and White didn't seem to be on the same page, though I don't know that to be really true though it just could have been frustration by both of them. Being down 7 or whatever in the 4th qtr yesterday they never seemed out of it. And again, CC kept her composure against a very tough defensive team and just kept making the right play time after time.
Some had her as the front runner for the MVP going into this season. Those numbers would certainly have her in that discussion.I don't think so. Maybe 2nd depending on the season A'ja has. Currently A'ja is at 26.1/9.6/2blocks per game.
If Clark is at 26ppg it means her FG& is likely closer to 48%, which would negate the biggest argument people have against her outside of turnovers.
I think a 26/5/10 season would get her MVP.
Lets be honest. Its been like that for sometime. Many think "racism" is a disease that only white people are afflicted with......Calling others racists without an ounce of self awareness..JFC.
To be fair, I think the all star squads are picked by the FANS, not he league, and then the captains pick their teams. Not sure how the other awards are decided. Can we quit with the conspiracy theory victimhood of Caitlin Clark? There is no WNBA shadow entity conspiring against her.

If I’m reading this correctly Miles is pretty far ahead of everyone on that list.Clark will need to finish really strong to challenge Miles for # 2, and perhaps hold off Mitchell. All WNBA guard candidates:

All stars have a weighted formula. 50% weighted by fan vote, 25% by media, 25% by player voteTo be fair, I think the all star squads are picked by the FANS, not he league, and then the captains pick their teams. Not sure how the other awards are decided.

Agreed. Her Fever career might be though. Unless Indiana can’t get others to come play with Clark.I agree with everything you outlined, but her WNBA career is not in jeopardy.
The all star position was not given to her by the WNBA…the fans did that. And in her rookie year, she probably should have been the MVP, but was fourth. She should be in the top two this year, but she’s not in the top four according to people who speak on behalf of the WNBA. If you don’t think there’s a bias against her by people in the league, then I can’t help you.Can we quit with the conspiracy theory victimhood of Caitlin Clark? There is no WNBA shadow entity conspiring against her.
