its only 1 game but if this year is anything like last than it’s definitely time for a changeNot being competitive is a bad sign. Might be time for a change.
This could be one of those dilemmas for Keli as he has made the NCAA's up until last season but another poor season and her mantra that we are her to win championships in my opinion means time for a new coach especially because except for the final four runs even though we have made the tournament most of them have been one and doneMike O'Neill turned on the heater on his seat.
From what I read here, sounds like recruiting is falling off as it did in Reasso's last years and some stubbornness around updating team style of play, similar to Pikiell. This could be one of those dilemmas for Keli as he has made the NCAA's up until last season but another poor season and her mantra that we are her to win championships in my opinion means time for a new coach especially because except for the final four runs even though we have made the tournament most of them have been one and done
It's a dilemma because despite him not getting the most out of the talent on the team he heads up one of the more successful programs in our portfolio. Otherwise I think a quick study of performance would lead to a bad outcome for him. This could be one of those dilemmas for Keli as he has made the NCAA's up until last season but another poor season and her mantra that we are her to win championships in my opinion means time for a new coach especially because except for the final four runs even though we have made the tournament most of them have been one and done
"stubbornness" is being incredibly kind... @SirScarlet nails it.From what I read here, sounds like recruiting is falling off as it did in Reasso's last years and some stubbornness around updating team style of play, similar to Pikiell.
He’s a top 5 or 10 paid coach in the countryThis could be one of those dilemmas for Keli as he has made the NCAA's up until last season but another poor season and her mantra that we are her to win championships in my opinion means time for a new coach especially because except for the final four runs even though we have made the tournament most of them have been one and done
Unlike Pike, they are the laziest recruiting staff in P4. It’s quite simple, if PDA is at a tournament then Rutgers is. No PDA, no Rutgers. Them when they strike out with PDA kids they scramble. If IRCC they struck out with the “05 recruiting class” which was a very good PDA team. Those girls would be seniors now. The girls they panicked and grabbed have all transferred out. My oldest was on a top 3 team in that class Rutgers rarely came around and when they did they had time of day for two girls. Those two girls were never going to to go to Rutgers. From what I read here, sounds like recruiting is falling off as it did in Reasso's last years and some stubbornness around updating team style of play, similar to Pikiell.
i am not saying you're wrong (you're more plugged in than I am)... but it does seem that he has stepped up recruiting outside of PDA the last few years.Unlike Pike, they are the laziest recruiting staff in P4. In this era of NIL that should not be an issue now; its just time like someone said above his time has come and gone and with his high salary it should not be hard for Keli to attract a top coach just as she did in women's b-balli am not saying you're wrong (you're more plugged in than I am)... but it does seem that he has stepped up recruiting outside of PDA the last few years.
Our best player in the last couple years was that freshman from the west coast who ended up transferring after 1 year (didnt she go to UNC? not sure what happened to her but I havent heard her name much since then). It was obvious from the first 1-2 games she was our best player. Sucks that she left...but that couldnt have been an easy recruitment.
I will agree with you that - similar to mens lax - we seem stuck/going backwards. We certainly havent capitalized on our Final Four run...now, maybe it's NIL money and resources... so lets see how the team looks this year. but I have my doubts.
While my understanding of Lax isn't high level, I trust what I see / know with soccer...and my read of MO is that he is quite limited/narrow in his ability to get the most out of his players. And his tactics are suspect. That's what I see from closely watching this team for about 10 years. I am only saying this to clarify why I have my doubts that more $$ is going to get us to the top of the B1G (where we should be with NJ/east coast as our recruiting area)
(btw, I also think that us losing the asst. who went on to be HC at MD really hurt us...the team hasnt been the same since she left)
i think we're both saying the same thing. In this era of NIL that should not be an issue now; its just time like someone said above his time has come and gone and with his high salary it should not be hard for Keli to attract a top coach just as she did in women's b-ball
Watching this the last few years has been very hard and although I admittedly didn't watch the second half the other night had to go somewhere the first half was just noncompetitive
Yup; Lets see how Thursday goes; I don't think UConn is that good so lets see what happensi think we're both saying the same thing.
I agree re: Meg Ryan. She did so much for the Club. Had energy , personality & knowledge. Plus she was an excellent recruiter.i am not saying you're wrong (you're more plugged in than I am)... but it does seem that he has stepped up recruiting outside of PDA the last few years.

Where's she now didn't last too long at Maryland?I agree re: Meg Ryan. She did so much for the Club. Had energy , personality & knowledge. Plus she was an excellent recruiter.
Well she got fired after like two years at Maryland. But I did like her as a personi am not saying you're wrong (you're more plugged in than I am)... but it does seem that he has stepped up recruiting outside of PDA the last few years.

Maybe they just saw enough of his team's inabilities to move the ball on offense and put it on net consistently for a program at this level.Well she got fired after like two years at Maryland. But I did like her as a person
He’s moved on from PDA girls because the PDA girls have moved on from Rutgers. There are a number of reasons for that but I think a big one is all games on tv. You can go play at UCLA and mom and dad can still watch every game. That wasn’t the case 8 years ago.
Pardon me for an opinion here and it bothers anyone just have a mod delete me.Maybe they just saw enough of his team's inabilities to move the ball on offense and put it on net consistently for a program at this level.
I don’t think anyone’s gonna disagree…thx!Pardon me for an opinion here and it bothers anyone just have a mod delete me.
Prior to 2022 the pda girls were committing as freshmen without ever seeing another campus. They were ball girls at games that idolized their older pda teammates
Then those girls as Rutgers players. Casey, Maggie Monashsnd others sat on the field and talked to them after the games. It was quite the family team
But Nissan stepped in and changed the process so as to not allow commitment until college semester ends doo year.
Do girl who never visited another campus were doing it and liked what they saw
cat was out of the bag. 2022 ( this year’s seniors ) netted only Goalie Bodmer and 5 commits total. 2023 had an awful lot of holes to fil ( I am thinking 12. That was an excellent pda team but the stars went elsewhere and the roster took on an awful lot of not top level Pda players.
That caused a glut of average players. That we are still working through.
but I think 2025,3026 and as starters 2027
Has brought in some really good players. Last year defender, this year miss and forwards
Last year er had a 5-1 starter and two 5’3 starters but height had been addressed and the team is longer and faster
but the second part of the quotient is Mikes vision of offense is not what kids want . But I think this roster roster is better than the last three years
What we don’t know is how good is fennesseee really. Maybe Thurs answers some questions
But take a step back from the hot seats
He makes 513,000 with 3 of 4 years left on contract
If I am incorrect I alllogize en masse
