It’s been a good movie year so far. Fingers crossed it ends strong with Doomsday and Dune

They had one of their fan conferences this week. They always drop a bunch of news when they have one.
Most importantly they dropped info on frozen 3. As a father of 4 girls I’m only half kidding.
Also re-releasing Endgame last week of September with new footage and a new post credit scene directly related to setting up Doomsday. It's titled Avengers Endgame Encore.
Somewhere is was written that they must be very loud, very long, and very expensive. I disagree.
They’ve been slowly improving again the last couple of years. I think they way overdid it 2021-2023 with too much content and trying to throw too many different things at the wall. But they aren’t putting out the same quantity of movies and shows these last couple of years and I think that has helped the quality.
Since the last Marvel thread, I've now seen The Eternals, Brave New World, and The Thunderbolts. Not counting the shows, I think I'm all caught up save the latest Spider-Man.
Yes. That was all I heard about yesterday. Apparently they have an evil witch in his one. I would complain, but she has so much fun with it that it is hard to.
In other news, Descendents 5 is out. Just don't do it. Awful. My youngest daughter even suggested we turn it off halfway through.
Not only is the acting atrocious and music earsplittingly bad, Sofia Carson has aged out and is no longer in the movies, so there's just nothing for dads in it at all these days.
On the other side of the comic aisle, the first episode of Lanterns premiered last night. Not what I was expecting but it was really good. Always liked Kyle Chandler and the actor playing John Stewart is perfect. Add some Garrett Dillahunt too for a great cast.
This looks good. I'm sure I'll see it with the kids. I've seen all the big marvel movies, but I have no knowledge of the comics or all the details and filler material between.
Not asking for spoilers, but can someone give me the 10 second summary of this guy - is he somehow stronger or worse than Thanos?

I’m trying to catch up myself before Doomsday. I watched zero Marvel stuff in between Dr. Strange 2 (which I didn’t like) and Spidey BND (which I loved).
I actually started with re-watching the X-Men movies pre-MCU. The first two are not as good as I remembered. X3 still sucks. X-Men First Class was awesome though, had not seen it since it came out and it’s aged really well. Days of Future Past is next on the list, I don’t think I’ve actually seen it before.
If you have girls you understand there are movies and shows that you have to watch. The Descendants series is one of those. Do I enjoy them? No, but they fall under an umbrella of shows that aren’t absolute torture. At least initially. As you stated, they have gotten progressively worse. The last one was indeed akin to being water boarded.
Thanos was 90's+ filler for top baddie. Doom is the OG primary villain in Marvel.
Hey, I'd love to have them both. But in this day and age of developers taking FIFTEEN 17n years to release a sequel, I'll take what I can get!
They should be working on the next RDR.

Doom combines the use of science and technology with magic. Think of it sort of as Iron Man and Doctor Strange/Scarlet Witch rolled into one person.
