That’s absolutely a thing.I usually work out Monday through Friday and sauna for 30 minutes after every workout. I've been doing the standard back/bi's, chest/tri's, legs/shoulders split. I'll do a little abs every day. No cardio (bad feet) other than the occasional power ropes. This has gotten pretty stale.
I'm contemplating switching to just the big exercises (bench, squats, deadlifts, bent-over rows, military press) and skip all the other stuff. I've read you get enough triceps and biceps hitting the big exercises anyway. Anyone try this with success?
Don't know if we are talking about the same issue, but the last couple of years the doctor sends me (bi-annually) to the hospital to have the thoracic aortic aneurysm (bulge) in my chest area measured.50 lbs. Restricted by cardiologist to keep from blowing out my dilated aorta.
Amen brother. At my age I would be a dumbbell to even think of bench pressing!
Good for you. solden days 305 at about 190#
now about 15 yrs ago while doing incline presses on a machine, and kept hearing a bunch of noise, grinding like. The MD said I had bone on bone, nothing they could really do about it. Hips ? yes, knees? pretty good Shoulder replacement? it didnt do too well
so I live with it. I get a shot every once in a while and that helps but not for long. So the stuff that makes it really hurt, like lifting I cant do any more. My left is good, so when I get a chance I work my left side. I am not too worried about symmetry any more! lol
I was ready to look into shoulder replacement, but ran into a guy at the watering hole who just had it done in the last yr. He says his hurts worse than before. They are trying to redo it but currently they took out the old stuff and pinned and needled a shoulder back together. Soon when the infection is gone, they will try again.
So for now I'll live with what I have , do what I can do, and dont do what I cant. The biggest pain I get is trying to wash my boat, so luckily I hire that out now! I keep forgetting I am 70, but I hate that excuse!
Good for you. I still mow my own lawn, albeit a small one, wash my own car and power walk 4-5 times a week. Oh and my excuse I'll be 86 in October. thank the Lord. lololden days 305 at about 190#

I almost passed out at cardiac rehab on Wednesday. Pulse dropped below 40. I'm not old enough for this $h!t.Did 5 x 245 on the bench machine today, plus a good ten seconds negative after the last rep.
Saturday mornings are nice because the ironheads come out then. Good workout today.
