BEAVER FALLS, Pa. —
A Beaver Falls High School teacher is accused of sending sexually explicit messages to a 16-year-old student.

According to a criminal complaint, the principal of Beaver Falls High contacted ChildLine after learning Sarah Massa was sending sexual messages to a student.

Those messages allegedly went on for two weeks, beginning in June 2026.

The principal told authorities he believed Massa had been grooming the juvenile by providing special treatment to him, including giving him hall passes and getting him out of classes to come to her classroom throughout the year.

Authorities say the juvenile admitted to Massa's treatment, adding he had been late to class on numerous occasions and that she would allow him to sleep.

According to the criminal complaint, the teenager told authorities he exchanged phone numbers with Massa at the end of the school year. She allegedly said she needed someone to talk to and began texting him days after school was let out.

Massa is accused of suggesting there was "sexual tension" between herself and the 16-year-old then began sending him sexually explicit messages.

During this time, she allegedly sent him 20 to 30 pictures of herself in lingerie and told him she wanted to "hang out" without the teenager's mother knowing.

The criminal complaint states there were 3,711 deleted iMessages between the pair.

Police say Massa admitted to deleting those messages. She also allegedly told her own mother about the messages, saying "I'm not at all going to deny he and I talked and some conversations definitely got out of hand in terms of jokes and flirting."

Massa is facing a number of charges including corruption of minors with sexual contact, sexual servitude and criminal use of a communication facility.

Beaver Falls Area School District released the following statement:

The Big Beaver Falls Area School District is aware of charges involving a district employee.

The District immediately took appropriate action, notified the proper authorities, and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation. The employee has been removed from duties involving students.

The district will not tolerate any conduct that compromises the safety or well-being of students and will take all appropriate action consistent with the law and district policy.

Because this is an active investigation and confidential personnel matter, the District cannot comment further.
