Maybe not but he was a home run threat that we just don’t have to my knowledge
What I was trying to say is Randolph wasn't a super freak athlete but I really hard nosed determined player that was athletic enough, maybe Owen has a player or players like that.

Who's your team? Avery will not be so good if I were a betting man.

I think avery will be better, but they are long way from being contender. Had avery guy bragging about their youth teams , youth football is joke, seen lot athletes get discourage and quit over bad youth football experience.

I actually think avery head coach knows football , just don't have lot of help. Always heard lot favoritism going on at avery, they will definitely destroy program

I didn't see it but I can't understand how they'd beat Mitchell. The few times I've seen Avery they could barely even line up right.

Why is Avery so awful every year?
Coaching and culture my friend. Honestly Avery hasn’t been competitive since 2000-2012 ish or since Villanueva graduated. Acceptable to be a losing program, I mean when you fire a guy for losing but then hire him back solely bc of community kinda says it all. As a result of the mediocrity you have a lot of kids that transfer to either cloudland/mitchell/watauga. I hate it for up there, probably one of the best facilities in WHC, it’s just spiraled way out of control

Rivalry games are always weird. Plus going into a game expecting 100% to win and taking foot of the pedal isn’t always a good thing

Have family from there so we went to multiple games. And I thought that stuff about firing/rehiring was well known. But yeah I can remember when they were really competitive and could go a few rounds in playoff.

Apparently Heritage looked pretty good although it was just NB lol
Hard to gauge anything based on how poor NB is tbh. I don't see them finishing this season at the varsity level. All i know is, i love being picked to finish 3rd or battling with Owen. Nothing more fun that a Heritage squad with a chip on their shoulder.

Heritage looked good against North Henderson tonight but again I'm not so sure how good they are, we were up 13-0 with are starters in then we fumbled on our third drive in the redzone then we pulled are starters, idk if North got a first down against are starting d. Just hope our starting rb is alright he got hurt on our first possession and didn't come back in.

Again, another meh team to scrimmage for Heritage. Starting D got about 8 total reps which resulted in zero NH first downs and two punts. Offense is as dynamic as ever and the OL/TE is as good or better than last year.

While impossible to replace Cason Jones, there’s some really nice athletes making some big time catches and runs for the Cougars. Depth is 100% an issue though, but it seems that’s about the same for most programs these days.

I am excited to see this team get tested by a solid defensive front. The question is: when do we see that?

Went to heritage scimmage, to be honest north henderson was terrible. Guess heritage will find out week 1 against pisgah .
I'm pretty sure their best running back didn't play against us but for what they were we looked pretty good against them. The starters scored about every time they had the ball and held them to punt every time, you can't do more than that in a shortened scrimmage, I think if it were a real game Heritage would've won 35-0

No offense to Avery but North would of put a running clock on Avery's team last year without their starting running back lol I'm not saying North is that good I'm saying Avery was that bad lol not sure what Avery's got this year but if last year was any indication they won't be so good lol

Obviously NH is better when Parker Willis plays. I actually thought North’s DL would be better based on the film vs Robbinsville and Swain. At the end of the day, the Cougars strength this year is their offense and again, I’m looking forward to finding a match up that tests them up front.

Those photos make Mitchell look state-of-the-art, inside and out! Any school at any level should be totally envious. And even the beautiful lush, green setting! No wonder Mitchell is always such a formidable opponent.

Like I said in previous post you will find out against pisgah. Went to the jamboree in wilkes County over 8 teams their , everyteam their d- line except for avery were better then north henderson . Hard to believe north henderson d- line better then robbinsville

Mitchell county went to football camp 10 teams their finish 2nd overall, east Lincoln finish 1, watauga finish3 ,Mitchell will have passing attack this year, riddle look great he has got bigger and lot stronger, he will be load to tackle. Mitchell line is very strong across the front , probably will start 8 or 9 seniors. That first game will be test , charlotte Latin very strong program. If the injury bug doesn't hit mitchell this season I see great season.

I like Mitchell this year but you’re talking about an FCA 7v7 Team Camp where they don’t keep score and no champion is crowned. Watauga went .500 at the camp last year because Coach Habich could care less about winning a 7v7 game and we all know how Watauga’s season went!
