Greenberg enjoying a free trip, free food and happy to cut a promotional video for Rhule. How nice.

What he actually did in my mind is remove Rhule's excuses. Greenberg says Nebraska has given Rhule EVERYTHING he needs to win. Facilities, nutrition, support, etc...... It comes down to Rhule.

So shut up about Frost and what you inherited Rhule - you have everything you need. Now we don't need a hype man - we know you can hype kids - we need a football coach who understands the game.

No surprise “people” comes before “players” in that sentence

Rhule’s feelings-first culture in action

Bingo!!! We have:
1. The best facilities in the B1G
2. The most loyal fan base in the B1G
3. Some of the very best player support in all areas
4. A surprisingly cool City
5. Good NIL money. Not great, but better than half the league.
Rhule has no more room for excuses! Time to win is this year.

Penny, I agree with everything you wrote and especially that Lincoln is a cool city. I've been telling U Dub fans that I run into this summer that they should go back to the Husky game. I tell them they will have a great time. Nebraskans will treat them well, Lincoln is a fun city, and unfortunately, I think their team has a good chance of winning the game.

I might add the Rhule is in his fourth year, so he needs to stop blaming what Frost did to the program.

Thanks!! I know I am biased. Lincoln is my hometown. But I have lived on the East coast since 1989, traveled all over the world, and been to many great college towns. Lincoln is not a “big city”, has no ocean or mountains nearby, and has frequently awful weather. But damn it, it is a cool city. And every time I bring friends to Lincoln who have never been there before they are blown away by how much fun they had there and how cool a place it is.

Bullet 5 is all it comes down to. If we aren't fielding a team worth at least $15 million dollars, then we aren't competing with the big dogs.

Another puff piece of how great Matt Rhule is at creating relationships and community. None of that will matter if we lose our opening game to Ohio.

Agreed- I’ve been to 49 states, 20 plus countries , lived in Seattle, Denver, Dallas, Omaha, valley, Destin, college Station and Des Moines- worked all over the country. Love visiting all over our unbelievably beautiful country but Lincoln is where I choose to call home for a good part of the year. Yep weather is bad Jan- Feb so you leave then - otherwise it’s pretty easy to block out or embrace any weather issues. Great spot, love living here. Not quite a college town but enough of one to be a significant influence. The excuse that Lincoln is too small and nothing to do is an excuse for weak recruiters. Go to college station, Tuscaloosa or state college PA and tell me Lincoln is worse.

Seth Greenberg: "Why am I here? My son-in-law was just hired to boost premium seating so the university can sell more expensive tickets. And since I work for ESPN, let me run a fluff piece on why Matt Rhule is a good coach because his actual record sure isn't doing the heavy lifting, and my son-in-law's firm needs to move premium tickets."

Shame on you, Seth. That’s just embarrassing.

Man, the university is getting desperate to make fans buy into Rhule, aren't they?

How about win meaningful games? Maybe try that. If you think he can do that, let the games speak for itself instead of explaining all the great work he does behind the scenes that doesn’t help generate much

we don’t need manufactured hype. We need something real

does anyone in the marketing department have a brain? Fans don’t want this crap anymore

You don't hate the media enough. This is unbelievable that ESPN would allow this.

State College is a tiny shite hole. Lincoln is light years better.

5. Good NIL money. Not great, but better than half the league.

The "best facilities in the B1G" made a lot of regional contractors, architects, and law firms rich. Shocking, I know, but having 50 flat-screen iPads in a locker room doesn’t win games on Saturdays in November it just looks pretty on a recruiting brochure nobody cares about anymore.

If you flipped the priority list from:

1. Top facilities in the B1G
5. Middle-of-the-pack NIL

To:

1. Good-enough facilities
5. Top-3 NIL money in the conference

...you win double the games.

But direct player payroll doesn't build multi-million-dollar physical assets, line the pockets of commercial construction firms, or let mega-donors put their last name on a building brick. Is it really any surprise the institutional culture leans so heavily toward capital builds when we have names like Weitz sitting directly on the Board of Regents? It raises an obvious red flag about where the system's priorities have been stuck.

or law firms that profit on big construction projects, law firms like Rembolt Ludtke.

Or Sampson construction that builds a lot of the universities complexes who also builds for KAAPA ethonal holdings. Why are Rembolt, KAAPA, and Weitz important? Why do they need to make sure we keep building facilites.

it’s dirty. Very very very dirty.

It’d be a damn shame if donors stopped treating the athletic department like a real estate development project and started treating NIL like the actual roster-building tool it is. Isn't shifting that exact mindset what Troy Dannen is trying to pull off? And yes where Troy tries to raise money matters. Telling a donor we need a facility vs we need a RB is important. Sure the money for the running back won’t go to the school but it benefits his operations

Great employees make a company great. Not the building they work in. Pay talent, you get great results

As someone in central PA I do enjoy a walk around State College and/or the university on occasion... but have you seen the "skyscrapers" they've put in the past several years? Blocks out the sun and ruins the charm of the town imo.

They'd look fine in an actual city with a skyline but not in a town like State College. I have joked to my Penn State friends before that it's something of an inferiority complex about being unable to beat Ohio State at football. I think I may be on to something

Clearfield County. Admittedly in the middle of nowhere even for here lol. About an hour west of State College or so.

Only been in Scranton a few times honestly. Just no real reason to go I suppose. Probably about 3 and half hours away I'd say?
