I cannot confirm or deny but I figure we changed the schedule around just in case it gets delayed or storms cancel it later on that we are doing everything we can to get our scrimmage in (having that ability being the host team). Again I can’t confirm or deny that. However I am 99% confirm!!!!
I am not complaining. I plan on getting a free burger out of the deal and have to be in Belmont at 8am Saturday morning for my sons weigh in. lol
Just kidding about the Burger. I meant Burger and Hotdog.

Surge told me that anyone that shows their "3A/4A Sports" membership ID card, will get a free bun with any purchased hotdogs. Deal is limited to the first 100 customers.

With him being a sophomore, it works out well for him that most of the team around him are seniors.

Does the wet bulb stuff matter for games/practices or just practices?
I Saw this guideline for high school athletes based on WBGT (wet build globe temperatures).

Saw this, too, but not sure if it’s correct, the NCHSAA cut-off point is 90 degrees with a heat index of 125. There are other safety measures at lesser temperatures and heat indices such as removing pads and water breaks.

Something else I’d noticed. The WBGT is a little different in other regions of the country because 0f acclimation. Suppose that means what someone gets used to. Here are their recommendations for teams in different places.

Side note: Sorry about this being a little tedious.

Side note: They also recommend that amaidendevil never be allowed to be an athletic trainer of handle any heat measuring equipment.
—————————————————-
Heat Safety Categories & Geographic Breakdown
    • Category 1 (Mild / Cooler Climates)
      • Threshold: Lowest risk baseline (WBGT ≤ 86.2°F / 30°C).
      • Geographic Areas: Includes most of New England, states bordering Canada, the Pacific Coast, and the Rocky Mountain states. [1, 2, 3]
    • Category 2 (Moderate Climates)
      • Thresholds: Moderate risk adjustments (WBGT limits up to 89.9°F).
      • Geographic Areas: A mid-section transitional band stretching from the interior Northwest through parts of Nevada, the Midwest, the Ohio Valley, and the mid-Atlantic/Northeast. [1, 2]
    • Category 3 (Hot / High-Risk Climates)
      • Thresholds: Strict risk caps (Outdoor workouts halted if WBGT reaches ≥ 92.0°F).
      • Geographic Areas: The entire Southern U.S., states generally south of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Iowa, and Kansas, plus New Mexico, Arizona, and California’s Central Valley. (Note: States with massive climate variation like California cross multiple zones, spanning Categories 1 through 3). [1, 2, 3]
“Heat safety thresholds vary by region because athletes' physiological acclimatization differs by climate. Research shows that northern athletes adapt to cooler local norms, making them more vulnerable to exertional heat illness at lower Wet Bulb Globe Temperatures (WBGT) than southern athletes who are conditioned to chronically hot environments.”

Thought this was a little odd ☝️
